That Dude Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 47 minutes ago, PleasedToMeetMe said: This album has the potential to be massive. Everyone seems to have forgotten about the trilogy with the excitement of the new single. Also, there must have been inspiration up the ass. The rehab, the cancer, Billie playing shows with the fucking Replacements, being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, playing the Sweet Children show with John . . . it's all stuff that's never happened before, and I think this album is going to be a product of all of that excitement. Can we not say "the T word". I loved Green Day's last "release" but "the T word" has become an obscenity on this forum and I'll take my responsibility for my part in the problem. But it most stop. Some of us (the good ones) liked "those albums" and some of us (jerks) didn't. It's 2016. LOL. ANYWAY, I agree. This album could be huge. Blink-182 just added more dates to their tour due to demand and that's insane! A few months ago we were talking about the death of rock n roll and now we've got a (forgive me Billie Joe) Pop Punk resurgence happening. ALBUM !@
Billie Hoe Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 I hope this album will drop some truth bombs with meaningful lyrics that slap you in the face like East Jesus Nowhere
Stefano Bras Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Holy shit, I'm so excited. 6 more days, guys.... 6 more days.

And yet...you missed nothing Why does Billie keep using the #mynewband in every post about the new album and tour? Is he trying to beat that dead horse of a promotion he was running or is something changing in the lineup?

strangestat Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 If this is a secret show set, I'm gonna be so sad if it happens in the week after I leave California...

I then thought "Say it Ain't So" and immediately realized there was no way in hell they'd be covering this during rehearsals...although I think we'd all lose our minds if we ever had a setlist with Armitage/ Scattered/ Contradiction and a great Weezer cover mixed in. Also, it will never happen, but a lifelong musical fantasy has been a Weezer/ GD tour, but I digress... Also, I hate to slag on any of their songs, because anything by these guys at this point is a blessing, but seeing KYE (assuming this is what "Enemy" is) on there was a buzzkill- guys, keep it off! But if that's what they want to do- so be it. I'm not about to criticize too much- they are back and I am absolutely convinced this album is going to be the best we've heard in a long time. You know what? I just looked at the photo again a little more closely and the second word appears to start with a C. Say Cheese?

steve46 Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 I think RevRad is short for something and they are not telling us the whole name yet because it will be the album title!

greendepent Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 So Armatage Shanks and Walking Contradiction is on the mind of BJ and co. I'm currently more exited about that right now than some new song, haha
Z J Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 I always found it easiest to relate to their older stuff, like Insomniac. The lyrics were honest and not from a character like latter albums, the themes are raw and emotional. I would love for them to go back to the true basics of Green Day

I would love for them to go back to the true basics of Green Day I feel like the reason Billie writes through characters now is because it helps him portray certain emotions. It would probably be difficult for him to write a from the heart song about hating everyone and everything now because he is middle-aged, has a loving wife, family, money, etc. You know what I mean? By creating a character, he is able to get into the mind of whoever that person is, and write for them.

cabot_girl Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Did we only see two new song on that setlist? I am so afraid its not a new album, or is that "confirmed"? Anyways, I love seeing Scattered there!! That's actually one of my favorite Green Day songs

PurpleIron1039 Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 I'm incredibly excited that "Scattered" may be on the tour setlist--it's possibly my absolute favorite GD track. Now, if only they'd play "Horseshoes and Handgrenades" and "Restless Heart Syndrome" as well....

Ritz Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 The setlist seems like a tour set list. And I am so excited about the photos they are posting on Instagram! So, RevRad is turning out to be a song at last. Who else thinks Rev Rad somewhat = JoS kind of thing? And Andres, the lightning bolt looks fab!
