What's the point for them to play the new album for the program director?

Maybe to see if the songs are appropriate enough for a radio to play when they release it? (Which makes me kinda hope they aren't lol)

To get them talking about it. They'll probably do it with a few more stations as well. They could also want opinions on the lead single.

So i asume you know the tour dates and the towns so there probably coming to phily. Just which stadium. ?

We actually haven't heard anything specific on the places. It's just very likely they'll be in Philly (btw, Philly was one of the first places I saw Green Day).

That was my assumption as well, get them excited for it and ask different stations what they would be most excited to play as the lead single

Phily is always a great town to see concerts. Hopefully they come to phily.

I'm now wondering how many other places will also be listening to the new album in the next week or two. Last time they previewed it to lots of magazines and other places. What if Rolling Stone has already heard it and they're already writing up their article about it. Oh god I'm so excited.

I bet a Rolling Stone article is already done and waiting to release.

I agreed to go see ZZ Top with hubby, in anticipation of a GD tour.  So now I can let him know that he owes me every concert between Boston and Philly.  He will be so happy.

^ this

wait until they actually announce the tour and then use it to buy pre sale tickets or something

Don't even join IC to get presale tickets for a stadium tour, it makes literally no difference.

For the trilogy, a year subscription to the Idiot Nation was included with the box set of the three albums. Maybe they'll do something like that again this time around.

You guys think they will be playing stadiums? I was thinking arenas would be more likely

Thank you guys for stopping me. I was just about to join lol.

If they do anything good/that might be worth joining for you'll hear about it on here or greenday.com before it happens, and it takes like 2 minutes to join and you're instantly a member. So you can just wait until if and when they do something you consider worth joining for (like I might if there's a presale or early entry contest for a show I'm going to or if they do something else really cool), not really any benefit to joining in advance.

Great so I guess tomorrow or the day after that we'll get our album name and release date! :runaround:

My guess would be arenas. Stadiums only happened after AI really blew up. Depends on how big this next one is.

Even without the new album going too big aren't green day still considered a stadium live act too though?

I live in Northern New Jersey so I hope they play at MetLife Stadium!

Can't wait to see what they do here in the Bay Area.  Hoping for some secret shows before the album comes out.

They sold out Emirates Stadium in 2013. I also assume it'll be an arena tour but if it's anything like the last tour or 21st CB they could do the occasional stadium show.

Probably a good idea to play it for radio management for advice on single(s).  Whomever was responsible for 'Oh Love' as the lead single killed any chance of the trilogy being commercially successful IMO.

It's not weird to play albums for radio stations they will play it to a lot of djs so they can talk about it and tweet about how good it is and all that. Exact same thing happened with the blink album.

Yep. I forgot to add the Blink part to my reply.
