They won't be on sale immediately after being announced, will they? Not even for Idiot Nation? I'm so nervous and scared I won't get a ticket, because I don't know my class schedule yet and I don't have money for it *right now*...

It would be an idiotic sales tactic to put tickets up for sale right after a vaguely timed announcement.  Ticket sales rely, in part, on time pressure and competition for tickets.  Tickets are more likely to run out fast (and consequently people are more likely to panic and buy tickets they may not want/be available for or excess tickets) if everyone is directed to buy them at one specific, hyped up and clearly advertised time.  Plus a slow site or failure on first few refreshes causes impulsive people like me to think 'oh wow I've managed to get through to these super-fast selling tickets, I'd better buy six even though I came on to buy 2'.

I'm more nervous for Green Day tour dates than the most important exam results I have ever received, which might also be happening tomorrow.

BRUH SAME. I'm so restless and I think my hands are shaking a bit. If my results came tomorrow and I found out I failed two classes, I wouldn't give a shit as long as I knew Green Day would come to a town near me.

GD are most likely the first headliner for the german HurricaneSouthside festivals (= 100% not headlining the Rock am Ring festival) .. and this could mean they have most likely some area restrictions for the north and south of germany, thats why my guess is we will atleast get a show in cologne or frankfurt (:

I kind of dreading tour dates because I'm worried about who to bring. A lot of my friends aren't fans or are super busy.

I have the same problem. But I think I'd just go alone or try to find somebody on GDC to meet up with.

I am the same way.  I can't make any dates in Sept or Oct, so I'm dreading seeing them.

Yeah that'd be cool if I could figure it out, but meeting a stranger isn't my cup of tea generally. I'll probably guilt a friend into it. I'm also single at the moment so I don't have the obligatory concert date :P

going to a concert alone was the best decision i had last year! (enter shikari gig, 0 friends of mine know them)

I met a girl from moscow, met the band backstage several times, went to some more gigs, I even flew to london the first time ever just because of this whole experience :D

meeting other GDCers would be great!

I'm the same way too. Normally in the past I've just gone to concerts by myself which probably isn't the safest thing to do, nor is it very fun.

Yeah, I'm probably going to a few shows alone. Would be cool to meet other GDCers! It's been a while.

Not really much out there to support that the statement could be true except that it was heard on the radio, but apparently PromoWestLive (of which their ties to this announcement were posted yesterday I believe) promote events at the Newport Music Hall...
We shall see in under 10 hrs.

PromoWest manages Newport and a couple smaller venues but also manages two indoor/outdoor pavilion-style venues, one in Columbus and one in Pittsburgh.

Thanks! It's my second-favorite concert venue, behind House of Blues in Cleveland... it may soon become my favorite now that it's so close to me (about 15 minutes from my apartment and 5 minutes from where I work) but it's on Ohio State's campus, so that's a downside. :P

Oh man, I'm already getting nauseous at the thought of buying tickets for a potential Green Day show there because it is a very small and popular venue. Brandon mentioned them playing a Newport show yesterday as a joke. If he got this one right, we need to buy some lottery tickets!!!

Fans dream of seeing them in a small venue - you might get it twice in two years - Id say buy a lotto ticket.....
