Mary711 Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Just now, Hermione said: I'm always with my sister so one of us would have to win it. So far we've managed to get barrier or very near the front every time without winning anyway , but yeah it would be really cool to just turn up and get on the barrier! Pretty sure I'll renew my membership if there's an early entry contest for my show. Yeah, that would be worth it.
YoungBlood Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 So Green Day just updated their profile picture and Jason White was not in it . Also Billie instagram photo a while back holding up a sign saying "trio" . Is Jason not in the band any more ? and is he an official member or a tour guy ? Thanks

yesfan18 Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Just curious. I just signed up for the Idiot Nation for the first time. Is it easier to get tickets through that presale? Do they usually have the idiot nation presale go on sale during the week? Nervous about about that cause I start school in a few weeks.

Thanks I think he's a member of the band but that doesn't mean he has to play the exact same role as the other members. So he may or may not be in promo pictures and may or may not play on an album. He was credited as an equal member with the others on the trilogy because he played as an equal member on those albums but even then he was hardly ever in promo pictures/interviews, and there was no promise he'd do the same on future albums. Whether he just plays on tour or also on an album he's a band member, "official" is a label made up by fans. I guess we don't know if he's played on this album? I'd like to know and I hope he has because he's awesome.
desertrose Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Excited for the upcoming tour. I used Idiot Nation last time and got some great seats for all the shows I saw.
.Holly Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 I just re-listened to 21CB and the intro gave me goosebumps. I remember listening to that intro knowing that I'd be seeing them for the first time ever in a few seconds. Just the memory gets me so hyped up. So ready for this era! Also I always forget just how fucking good 21CB is.

Maid Meringue Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 I've been waiting almost 12 years for this and I'm super anxious about getting good tickets. Every show I've been to, I've been lucky enough to be front and center with a general admission ticket but arena shows are a whole new animal.

I feel the same way, I"ll honestly be so disappointed if i'm not in the front after all these years. Haha mainly because i'm short and i cannot see at all.
Mary711 Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 You just have to come early to catch a safe spot at the barrier.

I've never done and was fine but it depends as there's no rule for it. We once even arrived in the late afternoon and managed to get barrier as they formed the beginning of the line right in front of us and let us in first. So you never really know what's the best time to show up and how it's organized.
Maid Meringue Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 46 minutes ago, XPursuitOfEpicnessX said: How early do you think? I would camp out honestly. Just remember that you're going to have to stand through a couple hours of opening bands first. I've made the mistake of standing up front for like 6 hours waiting for the final band, and i was too exhausted to enjoy them. Your best bet is to pace yourself and then as they're switching from the openers to the headliner, make your way up front. Because surprisingly, not EVERYONE will be there to see Green Day. So they'll head to the back after whatever band they wanted to see and then you'll be able to squish up front. (I find that offering sips of water to the people I'm trying to pass is a nice gesture and they'll be less likely to bother you).
Beathe. Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 4 hours ago, XPursuitOfEpicnessX said: How early do you think? I would camp out honestly. For Green Day I'm usually at the venue at around 8/9-ish in the morning. That way I know I'll get front row. It's definitley worth it, since they rarely have any contests that gives you early entry to the venue.
PursuitOfEpicness Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Thank you for your help guys. So stoked for touring.

angry_robot Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 I really-really hope that the majority of GD fans grew up a bit and it's not gonna be teenage madness anymore Last shows in Russia has been a mix of never-ending pushing, bitching and rude 14-year old girls screaming "I love you Billie!!!1". Good thing that they'll probably not gonna be here during this tour, I much prefer European crowds.

You may not be first, but unless it's a really small venue that's plenty early. Actually even at the couple of club shows I saw we showed up around 9-9:30 and were still right next to the front.
.Holly Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Reckon 8/9ish in the morning is early enough in the UK? I have found UK fans to be particularly crazy, with loads and loads of people camping out overnight. The earliest I have ever turned up is like 10am, and got 3rd row. That was for the Manchester Arena as well, which is a huge venue.

Beathe. Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 UK fans are crazy whatever band it comes to. I was at Brixon academy at 7 in the morning once and I got second or third row. If possible, I will avoid going to the UK for this tour.
Mary711 Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 I'd also consider decent seats as soon as it's unlikely to get a good spot in the crowd.
solongfromthestars Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Brits are insane, I am not looking forward to lining up here The biggest issue though in my experience is line cutters and people letting their friends in, or venues fucking up with entrances, crowd control, etc, which is all going to happen regardless of when you get there. A lot of people stop to "say hi" to a friend and then never leave. Just be wary of it and don't be afraid to tell people to fuck off!

Yeah, you never know what's going to happen so it's always up to a little bit of luck as well.
