I've experienced this kind of information leaking quite a couple of times already with other bands. you drop some information here and there to make the people listen up and drop some further information somewhere you're sure it's gonna be spread. you know, I might be a music teacher at the moment but I actually studied that stuff. needed a break from the media business as it is more than a fulltime job. this is how advertising works perfectly fine. mouth propaganda and conspiracies will guarantee a good hype

What's important is that Green Day are releasing a new album and ya'll should be happy and thankful that Andres and Matt are so committed to keep us informed and have been patiently answering every question, as dumb and repetitive the question might have been. I have no idea where all the negativity came from. Have a bit of faith in them and enjoy the anticipation.

It's not a real big deal for them to officially announce it -- they might have played for other stations already as far as we know. Be skeptical, don't be an asshole

It's already been confirmed and it seems like a reasonable thing for them to do. And remember this station is the only one to announce it. They may well be visiting lots of stations to do the same. They just haven't said yet. When you look at it this way, then you can see that it's for the album promotion. Lots of bands do this it's pretty normal procedure
