So true but fuck BMXcellent tits is so cringe worthy - BJ is so much better than that.

With all due respect, what the fuck does that line even mean? Or any line in that song, for that matter?

It means that he really likes tits and BMX bikes so he really likes tits that remind him of BMX bikes. Seriously, I think that ZJ really nailed it about how the song is about his love affair with his fans. This line in particular is saying how he is almost seen as not real and that he is having a hard time handling it, it is tearing him apart. HE is basically looking around at this life he has and realizes he can never get out of it, even if he wanted too.

Idk, as much as I love analyzing lyrics, I don't feel like I should have to think this hard to truly understand/relate to them as a listener. Sure, every song has multiple layers, but that one has just never really connected with me at all. Even that explanation leaves me thinking "huh?"

I didn't think hard about it, I thought it was perfectly clear. Everyone is different. I think the song is one of the most brilliant songs he has ever written, on so many different levels. Even down to the vocals which just cut right through me. If I remember correctly, you are a big Insomniac fan. I jsut don't get that. I know people have explained it to me and I can understand why they like it, but to me it was just a mediocre duplication of Dookie. That is the beauty of music, we all get different things out of it.

Hermione Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 The trilogy discussion is partly my fault , but let's get back on topic now please. I think I'd be unoriginal and just ask them the name. You can't really tell what it's going to sound like from a description so there wouldn't be that much point in asking about that, but it would be interesting to know the name (assuming it's not Revrad of course ).

Well, it has really good drum fills, guitar solo is cool, the lyrics. Maybe the "know your enemy" chorus gets a bit repetitive but overall its great!

Sorry, not one of their better efforts. What I will give you, even though I think the song itself is not good, it works very well in AI the musical. They way they use it in the show fits perfectly and is a highlight of the show.

Sorry, not one of their better efforts. If I can learn to play it, its definitely not a hard solo. That said, some of the most iconic riffs are stunningly simple: smoke on the water, sunshine of your love, seven nation army. Green day have far far better solos and far far better songs though, I think the bridge only sounds good because it's a change from 3 minutes of repetition. Know your enemy is certainly not iconic. On topic: I'd ask for an album timeline (or whatever you'd call it) with the planned announcement dates, promotional single release date and actual album release date, as well as when supporting US and world tour dates will be announced. Not the most exciting or insightful thing, I know, but it would allow me to channel my excitement at the right times and hopefully get rid of this residual nervous anticipation that comes from not knowing anything.
Clayish Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Know Your Enemy is trash and this isn't up for debate.

I agree, a large portion of rock, in general is pretty simple. What I think he was referring to in Know Your Enemy I wouldn't even consider a solo, I would consider it a bridge. Billie generally write solos, that is not his style. Most people wouldn't point out a solo as a good point in a GD song. It was rumored that Billie covered Crazy Train in Geezer, which he didn't, but I was looking forward to it because that is actually a pretty hard solo.

Definitely not much technically complex but it is a good track (unpopular opinion?). & as someone said above many great songs are easy to play like Smoke on the water, Iron Man, Highway to Hell, Sweet Child O' Mine, Creeping Death etc.
