I think that cover of St Jimmy puts you really well into the story of St Jimmy of that part of the album, and Holiday by Matteo is kind of a nostalgic take on everything that Holiday declares is wrong in an angry way (I can imagine an old person looking at all of this from his window or something like that). I also liked Whatsername by ScottF, Wake me up by Last Minute Men, Give me Novacaine by Luke James and by LizM, Letterbomb by Turtlemay and Extraordinary Girl by YoannA. And I listened to Whatsername too many times for my mental health Thanks so much! My buddy Donnie and I had a great time making it!

I will point out one thing, though. The drums were NOT ripped from Rock Band. I can promise you that. I will send you the drums themselves and you can layer it and check it out all you want. I know that ripping from Rock Band is a deal-breaker, and I wouldn't do anything like that to compromise my chances. I found the RB MIDI map here and used that as a tempo marker. Then the drums were sequenced in SONAR. Edit: Also, the piano and glockenspiel were not ripped. I'll send you the tracks from those, too. I recorded those myself. I have a pretty extensive sample library for piano and orchestral instruments. Oh dude I'm sorry man. In that case your samples are perfect, like holy shit, I'm fully impressed in that case, and you get full marks in that case. Sorry to wrongly accuse you! The tone of the drums is so incredibly close to the original, it's actually rather incredible. I'll edit my post so people won't think wrongly of you.

Though the solo itself could be a little better, just fix the delay and perform it a little better, I like what he was going for though. The lead after the "seems like forever ago" is majorly out of time with the other guitar. 5.5/10. Thanks man. This is my first time recording and I recorded with a pretty crappy mic that isn't suppose to record guitar so I was recording with my amp at like 2 XD I have the Blue yeti and sure its okay for vocals but its mostly for commentary, not singing and playing guitar. And yeah that delay was pretty crappy too and yeah that was out of sync and I couldn't get it any better. So thanks for the criticism!

I figured people would be on my case about that. I really tried to make it sound good. Used techniques I've learned from Chris Lord-Alge himself. He's got a great online class with instructional videos.

Thanks for the feedback! The 'synthy guitar' is actually a ukulele with a huge amount of reverb on it, I liked the sound so stuck with it. The minimalism was artistic choice, but partly influenced by the fact that when I was recording vocals my flatmate was asleep in the next room Otherwise it probably would have built a bit more.
matteo263 Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 oulalala....poll is now closed the excitement begins
Robbie1039 Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 These covers were so good so much more impressed by these than those Kerrang covers
Bruno Schmitt Lisboa Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Overall they sounded amazing. I intend to post something more descriptive as soon as I have the chance. But still, incredible work.
Gilo Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 It won't let me vote? Anyone know what to do? I entered but I can't find my entry. Again anyone know what to do?
localinsomniac Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Voting has closed for the top 10. As far as why your entry wasn't posted, not sure. There was at least one other person to whom that happened.

I prefer Lone's answer But seriously, thanks for the perseverance in organising this, I imagine 38 entries makes it a pretty mammoth task when put on top of everything else you guys have to look after. In spite of the delays, it's been really well organised (so far!) and was very enjoyable to enter
