desertrose Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Green Day's "American Idiot" is Biggest Selling Album by a Veteran Artist this Week http://www.vintagevinylnews.com/2016/03/green-days-american-idiot-is-biggest.html
That Dude Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 But seriously though....has any musician ever promoted an album after releasing other albums?

As far as I know older albums usually get a new sales boost after an artist passes away or when radiostations start to put the songs from a certain album back in the playlist for whatever reason.

Green Day are rule-breakers. They should just start releasing singles from older albums. Wouldn't it be fun to, after all these years, have a music video for Misery? Or Homecoming?

localinsomniac Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 The obvious answer here is that casual music consumers have caught wind of GDA's cover contest. Right?

Alan86 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 American idiot had 6 singles, a live DVD album, a musical, a making of documentary and a there is talk of a movie. I love this album but they have promoted it enough over the last 11-12 years. Its great that it still enters the charts every so often but it's done.
DookieLukie Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 I still haven't seen it chart. Been checking the sales and charts and AI isn't anywhere to be seen.
Hero_Of_The_Hour Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I'm sure it's been said but perhaps this has something to do with that thing they call Trump. Current situation motivated me to listen to AI for the first time in nearly a year and I'm not even from the US
