One only needs to look at what happened during the recording process for Cigarettes and valentines to know that just because they are recording an album doesn't mean that is the album that will be released. That was a bit of an extreme case but setbacks do happen.

And like I said, I would expect a major announcement instead of it being on a small radio show no one has ever heard of. I guess that was too far fetched though. Either they wanted to wait on their own announcement soon, or plans aren't 100% set yet so they didn't want to make any announcement at all for a while.
