Interesting. I wonder how far away an album release is based on this?

I would imagine fairly soon.  September is only 6 months away and they are going to want to release something before the tour starts.  Of course we won't know until it happens but the April/May rumor sounds fairly realistic now.

Holy fuckballs, it's just unreal :runaround:

Hmmm if the album would be around a April/May timeframe then we could possibly get a single any day now...

I'm betting on a new single for the RSD

April 16, just in time for people in the US to spend their tax refunds.

Huge World Tour (USA, Europe, Japan & Australia) :P but ok I'm excited

Shouldn't we expect a release around September/October? They normally start touring before the actual release. Or he could be talking about the proper longer tour... Idk

Well yep I'm crying.

And I'm a fucking genius:

That's my guess. In the past I've always had good luck guessing, trust me! haha I might have even planned leaving September 2016 to January 2017 with nothing to do in life years in advance because of my guessing  :ninja:

Rehearsing all summer long while I'm working all summer long to pay for the tour looks like my idea of perfect.

They do normally start touring before the release but only a couple days. Id imagine we will get a single spring-summerish then an album in september

That is not true.  I just checked, for American Idiot and 21CB the album was released 2 months before the tour began.  For the trilogy it looks like it was closer to 6 months.

That's bc of rehab, though.

YEs, that is true.  But for AI and 21CB the tour did start about 2 months after album release date.

Sorry but what does he say just before rehearsing all summer long? "Well actually Green Day ____ new album" This could give us the clue about the current status of the album :P

Me too! Haven't they done this before? That's coming up in April.

The timeline got weird. The studio would never allow a summer release for a rock album, so two months between album and tour isn't happening. It could come out in September and the tour would quickly follow, but that means the albums isn't close to being done bc Warner isn't passing up a summer tour if the album could be out by April/May. I don't see an April/May release and then three months until a tour. Very confusing.

im ok with this. i hope i can get to see green day :D

I think is "the album is half way down"

They did festivals before the release for both AI and the trilogy and then kicked off the solo tour when the record was already out. These initial festivals may not count as tour dates though and Jason was probably talking about the solo tour indeed.

That's true, you're right. It doesn't make much sense that they would release it around May and no tour at all. I assumed that they'd play some shows or festivals or tiny shows during the summer and then the big world tour September on, but it doesn't make sense that they'll spend the summer rehearsing then. Why rehearse if you're already ready to play? I suppose it makes sense that it'll come out in September then.

Any other ideas???

Club shows and small shows can be considered practice I suppose.

Yes I think that is one way they practice.
