Well Billie Joe is speaking at UC Berkeley day after tomorrow. Hopefully we'll hear or see something from the event.  I'm so curious about what he has to say about music.

Yes me too.

Do we know for sure that he is speaking or are people just assuming he will? Just wondering what people have heard about this.

I don't know for sure, it's hard to tell what the guests will be doing from the description given at the beginning of this thread. I haven't heard anything else; I'm so curious...

He is listed as a special guest, so unless something unforeseen occurs, he will be there.  It sounds like it is a panel discussion.

I wonder if they'll consider doing more of these outside the Bay area? That'd be awesome. There'd be a lot of people pretending to be college students just to get in. Hopefully someone can film it, or at least get an audio recording of it, because this is much different than anything Billie Joe's ever done in the past.

Anyone reckon there's a chance Billie could be asked about the new album tonight?

Well I do hope somebody will ask. There's a fair chance that there will be at least one fan considering the age group of the participants.

Today's the day! I hope Billie is not too nervous and shy...but no matter what I'm sure he'll do a great job.  I'm looking forward to hearing about it.

So this begins at 7PM (PST I'm assuming)

Just under 12 hours.

Here's the page from the UC Berkeley website.

It looks much more exciting than we thought, because they ARE going to be playing music as well as talking. The article says that it is to be a cross between a TED Talk and MTV unplugged!! Now I'm really jealous! and now Billie doesn't have to be shy because he gets to be in his natural habitat: on stage, with a guitar in his hands.

Not gonna lie-this sounds incredible.

So, have we still not confirmed that anyone on here will be attending the event?

No I don't think so :( But I'll be checking the UC Berkeley website, maybe they'll at least do a write up with some photos, if not post a video.  I hoping for some social media activity on it, maybe some youtube bootlegs...I'M SO JEALOUS

This is so awesome :runaround:

RE-CORD RE-CORD

TED Talks and MTV unplugged are both great on their own. I'm game for the mix.

Hi, I just checked the UC Berkeley webpage and it has been changed, Billie's name is no longer listed among the guests!!!:(I wonder what's up?? I hope he's OK and not sick or anything.  Why else would they pull his name off of the event on the day of the event?? Have any of you heard anything about this?

You just beat me to it, he's no longer listed, don't panic people, could be a reason for it or an error but he did have top billing, but oh no!!

Dying to know what's going on. I hope it's an error but it doesn't look like it, the article was re written without his name in it, as well, so it's not just the billing. I hope he just got chained down and locked into  the recording studio by his band mates.

Edit: or maybe he got too nervous about it?

Maybe he knew people would ask him about the new album/tour and it's difficult to deny or avoid the subject since Jason spilled the beans. So he just avoided the situation altogether. Just a thought

I agree, It's possible, it could be a combination of nerves and not wanting to deal with the questioning that would be sure to come from Jason's slip up... Billie Joe does not enjoy questions or public speaking.
