fatherotti Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Hmm let's see..... The red and black color scheme returns... The last two years or so have certainly been very political... lots of influence there for music (Sanders: Revolutionary, Trump: American Idiot, Hilary: Heroes and Cons)... So IMO it is looking like a sequel Again all based on speculation and personal opinion hahaha. That and I wanna get in on this. My guess for the name of the new album 'Revolution Rad'

I like the sound of that word "UPCOMING" yaaaaaaaay Pretty sure that's the same message that's been there since 2012. This band isn't exactly the greatest with social media, marketing messages, and the technology required to be good at them.
Hero_Of_The_Hour Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Did you guys see these tweets Makes me wonder about a tour this year.
Sanity Loan Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 ^ All of that is very strange. If it were 2014, I wouldn't be surprised. But now, I thought Jason and Brit were both in the clear.

Jason seemed fine as well, they just did the documentary. And both Brit and Jason were fine this time last year for the Rock Hall.

jumpsalty Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 That's a metal festival as far as I can tell? Not something they would have done anyway, and I looked on their Facebook and saw nothing. I think it might just be crossed wires.

Yeah I figured but it was fun to read anyway Just getting so anxious for something, ANYTHING...a single? New photos? Press release????

Hero_Of_The_Hour Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Reminder Green Day played a Jazz festival in 2013 so what would be weird about a metal festival after that
Stuart&Ave Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 It's a punk/rock/metal festival. The Offspring, Rancid and Bad Religion played last year. So I don't think Green Day would be out of place at this festival.

AlissaGoesRAWR Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Good news: My new job doesn't have a probationary period for vacation time! So if there is a fall tour, by then I will have accrued a few vacation days to use!

localinsomniac Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 There's another one called "Slave to the Dollar". Probably the same kind of crap. I'm not giving it the dignity of a click.

They came up with clever names like "Rehab."

I think 21st Century Breakdown is a more political record that American Idiot. On AI you have the title track and Holiday. 21CB had the title track, Know Your Enemy, East Jesus Nowhere (more against religion, but still) Peacemaker, Restless Heart Syndrome, The Static Age, 21 Guns and American Eulogy. I just think it's interesting to see where they go. 21CB was viewed as a weaker AI in the public's eyes. Curious as to how a new record will be received if it's strictly political. It depends on how you look at it as said before, but to the public eye, a song that has video of two lovers (and a fish)... is not exactly like some green American flags tearing apart or saying directly "Zieg Heil to the president Gasman". I agree that 21stCB is more indirectly political, or in other words more critical with the world's situation, which is not only the concrete politics in America, but also culture, religion, media, etc. But I don't think it's widely seen as a political album. And as you say, it's viewed as weaker in the public's eyes. So that's why I'm curious too about how it will be received if it's strictly political, but I think at the most -if it's successful- it will be viewed as American Idiot II, not III. 20 hours ago, Matt. said: Pretty sure that's the same message that's been there since 2012.
