Alright this is really farfetched and wishful thinking, but what if Billie Joe's "special performance" at the Tribeca Film festival includes a suprise appearance of Green Day and a brand new song???

Just about anything is possible with this band!

Don't know why but it's hardly farfetched or wishful, last time during Geezer after-party only Billie was meant to perform but surprisingly enough a whole band performance took place and they even performed some new songs (which were probably from the movie) so why not songs from the new album this time.

They were definitely from the movie.

I actually would be surprised if he had a whole bunch of people play like he did at the Geezer after party, except for the people in the movie.  This is really a different situation with a much different audience.  I would assume they are still looking for a US distributor, which is one of the reasons it is at the festival.  I don't think they would want to take the attention away from the movie by turning it into a GD show.

The Geezer songs were played by Billie Joe, Fred Armisen, and Jakob (Billie's song) and not Green Day.

Hmm they were pretty scared to debut new Green Day songs with the secret shows before the trilogy (as seen in Cuatro) even in front of hardcore Green Day fans who were expecting it. Plus they seem to be being more secretive with this album. Wouldn't be surprised by the rest of Green Day showing up but I think it's likely they'd stick to well known songs in front of a non hardcore Green Day fan audience.

maybe not specifically to what she was referring to, however they do enjoy surprising their fans.

Exactly. I don't want to get too hyped up about the tour just in case they won't come and i won't be able to travel.

I'm feeling so much ridiculous anxiety regarding scheduling/ticket-buying for a tour that technically doesn't even exist yet. What is my life?

I couldn't sleep last night so I made some very profound plans. I planned everything regarding a travel, tickets, who to go with and how to get on stage to play Longview. You are not alone.

I've planned out how to block Jan's travel and ticket plans and how to block her from singing Longview

Anxiety? It never was a problem to get tickets for the huge shows so you shouldn't worry about that. :)

Im anxious as well, I saved up a ton of money last year specifically set aside to travel... I REALLY want to see Green Day in England. I just hope it works with my schedule.

I got tickets to all the Cleveland festivities at normal price, without using scalpers, so it's not the process itself that scares me... if I did that, I can do anything! :D

But I could be switching jobs within the next month or so and I'm not sure if I'd have any vacation time this year if that happened, because many jobs make you work a year before you get those days off. My husband could be in the same boat, too. So if we do end up moving and starting over, unless every concert we want to go to is on a day we both have off already in our schedule, the odds of everything working out is going to be tough (and so many bands we love will likely be touring this year). Obviously good jobs > concerts in the long run, but it still sucks thinking about the logistics of planning all of it, especially since I'm not expecting Green Day to return to Ohio again.

I'm saving up  personal business days...but I might end up using a couple if I can get tickets to Tribeca to see the Geezer premiere and it's on a weeknight.....

Do you remember Geezer's premiere in which this band played a show??? Remember, Green Day played after them ;)

I see. So a lot of changes might be coming up for you within the next months. Sounds exciting! I just switched my job as well and really hope it's all possible as soon as we know some dates. Here you can't take a longer holiday within the first 6 months but single days are most likely not a problem so I'm confident it will all work out.

Yeah, it is very exciting and based on the information I've received from someone who already works there, I have a pretty good shot of it all working out! But pretty much every modernized country in the world is nicer to its employees than the U.S., so I'm not very optimistic about what my days off will be looking like for the first year or so. My husband's situation could be even worse because he works in hospitals.

But even if you both can't take any days off there's still hope for the weekends. So you could maybe focus on the shows they play then.

Savages. Here you usually can take a week off during first three months.

My hope for a May release is quickly becoming less and less realistic as March is passing with no peep from the band.
