Does that mean listening to TBS won't make me a martyr?

Jon Benjamin Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Dunno what's with all the hate for taking back Sunday but their last album was incredible. Green Day likes them enough to have had them open the Milton Keynes shows. They got pretty close there, Ive talked to them about it.
BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 To tell the truth, I can't recognize them from approx. 5069562629697 other pop punk bands that all sound the same so I'm not hating them specifically.

I remember I was surprised when I heard their newest single, Tidal Wave, because it had a much different vibe than their usual stuff. It actually reminded me of the trilogy in how much it tried to be like stripped-down rock n roll.

Clockwise Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 If you haven't listened to TBS in a while, take a listen to their last album Happiness Is... They're just a great rock n' roll band these days.

They haven't been a pop punk band since 2004. They're basically indie rock with lots of big driving parts now.
Sixtrix Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Woops, I made a wrong turn I guess. I thought this was the 'Green Day in the studio 2016' thread.. *looking for the nearest exit*
Punkfreak1414 Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 The best part about all of this is someday after I come home from work im going to log on Facebook and see on the trending now "Green Day 12th studio album *name*" or see on music websites like alternative press post the news and it's going to be such a suprise
Jesus of Seneca Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 I think this weekend when I go on a four day trip - during which I will have no connection to the outside world, I am likely going to be having a minor meltdown due to the fact I have no idea whether the rest of the world is hearing new Green Day music without me That is to say, if they don't announce something by then

I have a strong feeling the announcement will come this week!!!

Billie Hoe Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 I'm literally dying for some news But I can be patient I guess. The bigger the anticipation, the greater the happiness when it's there, right?

Clockwise Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 I'm a fan of Joe Van Winkle's posts in this thread, good to see some genuine enthusiasm. His announcement predictions are also a fun little gag every week, and like people have said, eventually he will be right. Idk I'm enjoying a lot of the talk in this thread but I guess I don't take it as seriously as some, which is fine.
Justin1 Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 A new Green Day song, or at least a snippet this week would be 'out of sight'! ?

I'm going camping on Tues. for a week with no wifi in the woods (duh) and I may (or may not) come back to lots of posts and news to catch up with.
