Chin for a Day Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 If Mike and Tre do more than back up vocals I will become the new biggest Biffy fan.
Dakke Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Just now, Joe Van Winkle said: Or All By Myself LOL!!! Haha. I forgot about that masterpiece. Maybe something in the vein of DRB sung by Tre

Alan86 Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 I'd be happy for Mike to at least do backing vocals. I don't want to hear Billie doing backing vocals for himself.

I still don't understand why Billie Joe backed himself in the Trilogy He also did that on 21CB He probably did that because it goes faster that way since he works fast with his vocal recordings and that way he got the exact same rhythm word for word done right away. But I also prefer mike doing backing vocals in recordings
localinsomniac Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 It just sounds better having two voices harmonizing rather than one. I like the contrast between Mike's and Billie's voices. It could just be as simple as certain notes being too far out of Mike's range. They have a lot of layered vocals nowadays; there are parts I never picked up on before the RB multi tracks got out.
Mary Daze Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 On 21CB I loved that Billie backed himself. On the Trilogy not that much maybe because it was overall a different sound. That stadium kimda feel that 21CB has to it was awesome in my opinion. I don't mind if Billie backed himself again. Though it would be nice to hear some parts of Tré and/or Mike again.
petros Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 My only issue with how 21st sounds is that I can't hear the bass. The only good thing of the trilogy was the resurrection of the awesome Mike Dirnt from the land of dead bassists players that get lost in mixing/producing/mastering whatever you music tech nerds.
Sarcasm Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Mike is no Ian D'Sa, but his backing vocals is competent.
Clayish Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 21st is still good. Couple of bad songs and the "story" is 100% forced, but I still enjoy a lot of the tracks on there.
GenXIdiot Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 This could be the week we at least get a press release from Warner...

KarlAuerE12thSt Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 When I see the rose in billies selfie I kinda think of the rise from the ashes for cigarettes and valentines ???

They were both good songs and I wished they were longer. If Green Day did more short songs, I'd most likely want them to be longer as well.
tdlyon Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Will never understand why people want Mike or especially Tre to sing lead on multiple songs

Jesus of Seneca Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Mikes actually a good singer. Tre though, it's just nice to something with his flavor of idiocy every now and then - not saying it needs to happen that often though.

GenXIdiot Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Mike is a weak singer but it's fun to hear him for about eight measures per album. He great for Billie's harmony, though. He usually sings a third higher, it sounds nice, like Everly Brothers. I'd like to hear eight measures of Jason, too. EDIT: OR NOT
