Billie Joe certainly has a grittier style in his new selfie, and I think the music will reflect that. He was "prettier" for the Trilogy style.

Seven hells, it better be. 2016 is an epic rollercoaster of highs and lows and the recent offerings of established rock and punk bands haven't been able to capture that sentiment sonically.

Yes I agree, they were a lot more relaxed with the trilogy wereas for American idiot and 21st Century breakdown, they had a certain style that was conveyed through the album. That being said they compared the trilogy to a party which could explain the more loose vibe. With what we have seen from Billies Instagram post, the black hair and eyeliner are back, if this reflects the album sound then I think we are in for a real treat!

Yes I know, it's a shame. Not trying to go off topic here but blinks album isn't overly great, sum 41s new single however is decent. However if it's the lead single then that's the best thing off it, and it's just okay. Green day have something special though. I feel this album will be great.

That is far more important than the ephemeral listing on the Hot Top 100.

Then again they've experimented so much you can't really defy classic green day! I think the lyrical content will be incredible. A few epics like 99 revolutions. The classic 10 minute masterpieces. Some hard fast stuff and some experimental stuff. I'm looking forward to whatever they come up with

It's been severely underrated!!! That being said, I have a feeling this time around, the new album and singles will be a mega smash hit!!! They'll have a lot of radio airplay, millions of views on YouTube, debut at #1, and totally dominate the 2017 MTV VMA's!!!! GREEN DAY IS BACK GUYS!!!!!

Just my wishlist though. Yeah Jason especially, he was given a bigger role in the trilogy so maybe now they will give him more creative control within the process. Not saying he would contribute songs as that is Billies job. But rather than just record his tracks under the guidance of Billie, he may be allowed more control as he is now the bands official rhythm guitarist.
