Joe Van Winkle Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I'm hoping the new album contains killer guitar solos and bass solos like the one in Dirty Rotten Bastards!!!
Siddharth_471 Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Hit The Heights I think that sounds like a great album title. \m/

At least that's how I've always understood it. And mastering is also for the overall Album sound! Is a song too loud in comparison to others? is the sound on one track way sharper? are they harmonic to each other
Sixtrix Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 This probably means nothing, but I noticed a small "change" on the official website. There used to be a small section on the right side that showed recent instagram pictures of the band members. That section is gone now and seems to have been replaced by the Tour section (or the tour section was moved up in the side panel)
alienlifeform Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Green Day got a little quiet the last few days on Instagram, maybe there will be something huge coming soon

localinsomniac Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I'm almost as excited to see how the logo will be stylized
That Dude Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Green Day is truly the Last Gang in Town for me musically. Red Hot Chili Peppers were way up on my list (my 30th favorite) and I'm still giving their new one a chance, but even after four days of spinning it, there are only two tracks that are even listenable, and only one that I really like. I usually hate everything the very first time I hear it (I didn't like American Idiot upon first listen!!!) but The Getaway is bad in the worst kind of way. The Peppers really let me down. I absolutely LOVE slow songs, but speed is not the problem with The Getaway. The lyrics, the instrumentation (or lack of) is utterly boring and repetitive. Aside from the single, I'm not sure I've heard a worse album in a very long time. Not to keep bashing the band, but they should change the name to the Gray Lukewarm vanilla Oatmeals. OUCH. I have a feeling the new Blink record is going to let me down. Shinedown's last one, while not bad, was a let down. Weezer's White album was a let down. Maybe I'm expecting too much from Rock N Roll these days. Maybe I need to walk away from the bands I've held sacred since the mid 90's. I don't know. I do know that I don't want to walk away from Billie, Mike and Tre. I hope that Green Day 12 is indeed Green Day 12 - and not some watered down mockery of what they used to be. Maybe the problem is me (I've been disappointed in so many bands this decade... Green Day are the Last Gang in Town, and they need to make a record that will break hearts to get them pounding again. They need to make something totally new, totally dangerous and totally Rock N Roll.
localinsomniac Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Couldn't disagree more re: Weezer's White Album. And this is coming from someone who hated their last three.

Sanity Loan Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 All they did was remove the trilogy-themed Instagram section, which pulled the Tour section to the top. If this was actually a big change (it's not), I feel like they wouldn't make big changes on this design as it's serving as a temporary design while the new one is being worked on. TL;DR: I wouldn't read much, if anything, in to this. #BuzzKill
BucksCoEric Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Theyll totally incorporate trump on the cover somehow lol

Well I mean, they do those secretly while working on GD albums so it's always a possibility . I'd love it if any kind of bonus side project thing came out of it.
Joe Van Winkle Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Here's my prediction on how the new record might sound, track by track. 1. Power pop title track 2. 10 minute power pop masterpiece 3. Garage Rock Jam 4. Beatlesque Piano Ballad 5. Vintage Green Day Punk Rock 6. California Surf Rock 7. Vintage Green Day Punk Rock 8. Foxboro Hot Tubs Party Rock 9. The Rehab Song 10. Vintage Green Day Punk Rock Song about Trump 11. Beatlesque Piano Ballad 12. Vintage Green Day Punk Rock Album Closer
Hermione Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Down to the individual tracks? That is a bold prediction!

GenXIdiot Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I read somewhere that there is going to be 12 tracks. Is this truth? I don't remember where I saw this or if was a reliable source. If there are indeed only 12 tracks, I hope there's at least one epic, multi movement song, a la JOS. I'm hoping for kick ass pop punk/ rock/ punk songs with a good solid Nimrod vibe, meaningful lyrics, artistic multi layered, tracked production (like 21st CB), a piano ballad (with Billie Joe playing), acoustic/electric guitars combo instrumentation with nice and crusty sounding guitars, and some humor thrown into the mix. Not much, right???
RedundantIdiot Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Yet again I'm late to the party- I've yet to make a prediction on what page this thread will be on when they make an announcement. Therefore, I predict we will be on page 170. I will also predict that there will be 14 songs on the album and the album will be 63 minutes long.
Joe Van Winkle Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I still want to know what #revrad means!!! I think it could be the album title or a song title, like Revolution Radio or something like that
