I don't think they want to jinx it, they want to take it slow and play it safe instead. Lots of musicians have superstitions/rituals. That is kind of how I see it too. They haven't announced anything yet and have not set a date, probably to prevent any stress within the band of an approaching deadline. It is quite possible that they started the writing/demoing/recording process without a set end time. And their label probably did not set a deadline for the new album to give them the time and space to create new music and polish it until they are content about the finished product. And they have filled up the waiting time for us by building up the anticipation with posting pictures and cryptic messages.

An individual person could not be in the photo for any number of reasons, either busy somewhere else and wasn't there or just wasn't in the shot. I don't think it tells us anything. Something is telling me that if I'll go on Tumblr now, I'll see #ringgate rising back to its old glory
XxXxXxXxX Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 I have a feeling that they just got to LA. That seems the most probable to me. If this is the case how long has it taken green day in the past to record, mix and master after the demos have been completed? Didn't someone say that Green Day is known for taking a lot of time on demos and then they quickly bust out the rest? Edit: Were not talking about milkshakes here

localinsomniac Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Maybe the process went more quickly without Jason screwing up half is takes? ::ducks::

alienlifeform Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 would be really nice if we had an announcement announcing that the official announcement of the new record would be announced within 'xx' days

Clockwise Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Do we really think they've been recording demos for like six months? I'm pretty sure they're done or nearly done.

Clockwise Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Just now, Matt. said: We have no idea. Well yeah, they've been keeping us in the dark for sure. All I'm saying is I find it hard to believe they've been recording demos for six months, and that I think they're nearly done with the entire process. I could be completely wrong.
RedundantIdiot Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 They might not be in LA just to finish off the album- they have done a few music videos there before. They might be there to finish this album before going straight into doing the videos. They did the videos for Boulevard of Broken Dreams/Holiday there and I'm sure they did the American Idiot video there as well. Maybe that sparkly guitar BIllie is waiting for is needed for shooting the videos in LA is a few weeks?

I like your assumption, but mine is that we are a little bit far from the "music video shooting" part. But [2] I'm bored so this is a great subject after 157 pages.

DookieLukie Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Talking about Jason White brings me back to the "Is he an official member?" discussion years ago. I actually like Jason a lot and think he's a good guitarist and a nice guy, but I still don't see him as an official Green Day member. He may technically be, but I'm just so used to the trio.
