Green Day in the studio 2016

I don't see a problem with the Riot Fest thing being discussed as long as it isn't just posting for the sake of it without really having anything to add, at least it's a real thing to speculate about. It's the posts about nothing/speculation about random made up things that make it tiresome to read through. If there isn't something worthwhile and on topic to add there is the option of just not posting.

There's just no hints they are or were considered no real sources there's a tweet with them using a old saying that yes GD used in a song but that's really not a hint

I could be wrong and GD could be announced in the second wave but personally I don't see it being the case

Tbf I could see them taking second billing over Misfits as a respect thing but deft not with Morriesy

Oh I know, the possibility of them playing is only based upon that they may start their tour in September, which is when a festival that suit them that hasn't released their lineup takes place. That's all. The tweet adds to the possibility, but I don't think that's a proper hint given that it's a common saying (I didn't know that before you pointed it out). But this line up announcement doesn't rule out the possibility, I think it's just as probable as it was yesterday.

As Matt said and as I pointed out before, that those two bands are before on the current lineup poster doesn't mean they're going to be the bigger artists.

Can we assume by Billie's latest videos that he's back in town? That stage looks like the one from 1-2-3-4 Go! Records. And Otis is on the back of it. Oh well

My prediction: the band began hammering out new songs shortly after the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame stuff and had everything ready to go by the time they entered the studio, shortly before X Mas Time of The Year was released.

Billie had pleanty of time to write and pleanty to write about so unlike the trilogy I'm sure everything was ready to go before they hit the studio this time around.

We will hear some news by July.

I'm pretty sure everything was ready to go before the Trilogy recording sessions.

I got the impression from cuatro that BJ just kept writing....

Billie Joe is always writing.

I didn't. He said in Cuatro that nimrod was a lyrical nightmare and that after that he never wanted to go into the studio unprepared again, so I think he had the majority of everything worked out after the demo sessions.

Cuatro shows the band rehearsing in studio since the secret shows, i guess, and then Billie appears writing stuff. When they entered the studio to record the trilogy, in february 2012, there they had all the songs done.

Has anyone considered starting a pool for when we'll get either the first single or official news about some sort of release? That sounds like itd be fun lol

This is why I will never trust Billie's assessment of his own writing ever again.

You're saying 99 Revolutions isn't the best thing they've ever written?

I think I'm the only one that enjoyed 99 rev as an opener.

Well, up until I heard that Billie hates Nimrod, I'd believed him on that one. My world is truly shaken :(

When he says that I don't think he means he thinks the lyrics are bad, I think he meant that the actual experience of writing the lyrics was a nightmare for him

I absolutely love the trilogy and it's one of my favorite things they've ever done. But 99 Revolutions is one of my least favorite songs I think.

Me too, IMO  it's just a terrible song. It's the only GD song I'll skip.

I actually liked it as an opener too though i like 21st century breakdown more. And imo the 99 rev version off demolicious is better than the tre version which is kinda sad.

note to self: find the nimrod album thread tomorrow and start discussion about the lyrical content

Everything about 21cb was better - I loved that tour.

After hearing BJ say that I always wonder if Australia just got the extras he wrote in the studio for our bonus edition.

Despite the message he wrote... this may be his new LP Jr for this era? And I'm excited af because it's so goddamn hot looking?
