That "Otis / Oakland" t-shirt seems to be back.

All I can think about when I see the word "Otis" now is the fact that my workplace's elevator was built/is inspected by the Otis elevator company. Every morning I have to look at that word on the elevator floor and remember that Green Day still hasn't announced a new album yet, because the reference jogs my memory. :P

well in those recent chimp photos Billie's hair is blonde, so that means they're not done recording, right? right?!

honestly though I have no idea how far along they are. they've been active with a lot of things this year and at points where I thought they were done they kept posting new studio pics, I think they're taking it super easy and not rushing anything this time around. it's anyone's guess.

Well I don't know when vocal tracks are done in the timeline of the recording process, but  Billie Joe was definitely warmed up and singing  very well at the Geezer premiere. A singer doesn't just pull that out of nowhere, I'd say he'd  been singing on a regular, daily basis for a while before that performance, maybe in the recording studio, I hope!!!

Generally vocals are the next to last to last thing recorded

So maybe recording is pretty much done and it's off to mastering...

Minor stuff like doing overdubs for the music and vocals

He's a musician, I'm sure he's singing all the time. Whether it be in a studio, live, writing songs, or even just generally rehearsing.

Exactly that's the company that made all the escalators in the subway in Greece. Every time I use it I remember the same thing

I hope they take some time for album artwork and try to make it good and relatable.

Funny thing: I was in Oakland 3 weeks ago and happen to meet Billie at Broken Guitars. One day before, I bought my girlfriend a plush dog that already came with a name tag, which later we discovered was "Otis" (what are the f** chances?). Thinking it was a 'God sign' we took the plush dog with us to Broken Guitars, to buy a t-shirt at our very last day at the city, and there was Billie Joe.

ps.: No I didn't ask about the new album :( Much because a GDC member did a couple days before and brought fresh news, and I thought I would be bothering Billie.

Another theory/piece of speculation to add to this thread: Considering Billie Joe has been spending a fair amount of time out of town with Adrienne on the Project Chimps stuff, I wonder if the album is done being recorded.

Or whatever they had recorded was stolen and now they're taking a break before starting to record a new album from scratch. The old one probably wasn't "maximum Green Day" anyway.

If true, I wonder if Riot Fest announcement is held up by Green Day's announcement of something.  Saying that Green Day is playing a festival this fall seems to kind of pre-empt (in a bad way) new music announcement.

So Riot Fest is announcing their "First Wave" of their lineup tomorrow. Now assuming Green Day is part of the lineup it is likely that they asked not to be announced until the final wave (So that they can actually announce something on their own first).

Irregardless, they would still have to be part of the lineup in order to be announced period. I think I have my hopes up a bit too high.

In the Denver video - Kids Shoplifting - It  could refer to either "Shoplifter" from American Idiot or "Been Caught Stealing" by Janes Addiction.

Either way well will find out exactly 12 hours from now... I give it a solid 15% chance that Green Day is in the lineup. 5% They are in this first wave.

? where? if you're talking about the wish in one hand tweet could be or they could be referring to the saying Green Day didn't invent that saying lol

Well there was no more Billie Joe agressive guitar pedal as in the Insomniac album... would be great to hear something close at 2016 new studio recordings. And maybe Insomniac was the last LP recorded as a trio band and it was fucking awesome
