new green day is their recent stuff ,for most people it started with Warning and i agree on that.We can't deny that they changed but in my opinion ,they have never been bad.They made some great songs in trilogy.If you heard them and disliked it, that's fine.many people who didn't even heard them don't like it.I don't have a proof but i just know.

When trilogy first came out, i remember seeing people like "new green day sucks" it was only one song-oh love- but it was enough to jump on the wagon.They may personally dislike it,again that's not my problem.But one funny song doesn't mean so many things.

I like this song cause i love simple music.I gotta admit i can never listen to Pink Floyd.i can't understand their music,never did,never will. Years ago, what made me love Green Day in the first place was their simple,melodic,catchy songs.This song is a little forgettable but it made me smile and i like it.I have tons of other better Green Day songs to listen to so i don't have to bitch about it, if someday i wanna remember the first time i heard about this song (few hours ago and i screamed like a fangirl) i definitely will listen to it again. i don't always need songs like Jesus of suburbia to try to wrap my head around how they did it, i think this song is good and i like it. that was a bad english ,sorry.

  As I got home from the family gathering, I sat down and surfed the web.  As I typed in GDA, I thought wouldn't it be a nice gift if Green Day had something new for us today.  

And WHAMO!  Such a wonderful thing to hear, I've already played it like 5 times already.  Gotta do some lyric deciphering here soon....

The music sounds like "Walk Away" with a bit of "X-Kid".  Anybody else heart that?   Excellent guitar tones.  I could go with this sound, although who's to say if this is indeed the next 'sound' or not.  

Again, so thankful.

I just think the song sounds alright personally but it's not something I would get worked up over. That's just me though

I think a good part of the problem in discussing how good or bad this song is involves taking into consideration the fact that it IS a Christmas song and that comes with a unique set of complications such as 1) It is accepted that Christmas songs are supposed to be terrible (eg Wham Last Christmas, Slade etc) 2) Some people just freaking love Christmas and any song associated with it will just be a little more acceptable if it's shit (even REALLY shit pop songs)...I can confirm this as a person with FOUR Christmas trees in my house (seriously) and a tolerance for 99% of terrible Christmas music and a love for a lot of really bad tunes! Then there are people who don't love Christmas and just hear a shit song  Either way I think it's no big deal because it's just something they put out for the fans for free which was a thoughtful "gift" for xmas. For those who like it go listen to it while wrapping presents or geting drunk  and for those who hate it don't worry...it'll probably be three more years before they bother you with more new music

He's been nagging about the song since this post was made, he's the only one who really keeps on shitting on people for liking it and basically trying to convince people that his opinion is the correct one.

That's the thing plenty of people enjoy the song! It's just a certain few that keep coming back to rain on everyone's parade that makes it seem like the overall consensus of the song is that it's bad.

Sounds boring, lyrics = random Christmas clichés, BUT its good to hear something new from Green Day again, and appriciate this little gift for the fans. I'm sure we'll get a full album next year!
