The guy wrote the song and happened to feel that way about it that day, probably because he felt strongly about/closely connected to the lyrics and happy with his work. How he personally feels about a song he wrote isn't really something that can be right or wrong. And I speak as someone who dislikes 99 Revolutions more than any other song on the trilogy

He was a grown man in 2003 but ranted to Rob (and anyone else stuck in the studio with him) about people on a forum who "get to you" and seemed really annoyed by some of the stuff they say (which is identical to a lot of what is said here on a daily basis) so Billie if you are listening Mike looks like a stripper now

Hermione Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 My goodness! 8th Avenue Serenade is a beautiful song, easily one of the top 5 on the albums. Great lyrics that are both honest and romantic and sounds lovely. If we're talking songs that don't belong 99 Revolutions is the one. I do actually like it and I'd rather have heard it than not but it really doesn't fit the theme of the albums at all. It was also the worst possible choice of song to name the tour after, didn't reflect the new albums and made it sound like they hadn't moved on from American Idiot/21st CB and were still churning out more of the same.
