I'm not even sure which, but he was on fucking fire for that album.

Eh, I'm all for pointing out where bands rip each other off, but apart from having a vaguely similar picking pattern (and a very common one at that) I don't see much similarity. Also, the best bass line Mike every wrote is clearly 16.

And most people don't like the trilogy because it's just a mediocre collection of songs. With bad lyrics uninspired melodies and nothing exciting really. It's not a different sound as you say. If something it's green day in their 40s trying to do what they did or should do in their 20s and it's just bad. It's closer to the majority of their albums. The only really departure was AI and 21CB and these weren't such huge departures anyway. Also about nightlife why do you people hate it so much? I mean it's not that good but surely if i listen to it i will remember its title cause it doesn't sound like 20 other songs from the trilogy. At least it's unique and has a great bass line. I love nightlife, that, fuck time, lazy bones and amy are some of my favorites from the trilogy. some of my other favorites from the three albums are X-kid, Dirty Rotten Bastards, 99 Revolutions, Stray Heart, Brutal Love, Amanda and Drama Queen. It is largely down to opinion yes, but some things are great regardless if you like them or not. They are well written in all respects. Uno, was the most boring with samey same songs on it. Dos, was more fun and... i dunno really, I really enjoy the tone of that album. garage'ie... fun and dirty. Tre, was overall quite clean and sweet. A nice sweet note to end on. Uno was the most familiar sounding album, for the most part anyways.

Nightlife, Fuck Time and Brutal Love are my trilogy favs.

Not really . i don't see big resemblance. Overall, i think it's a heartfelt song with any element.I have many favourite mike bass lines but that one is special ,not because it's technically best but i like it best.

And i do like the trilogy, I only miss the distortion on guitars You, sir, have given my thoughts and reason to start an interesting thread.
