I know it's just heresy since I didn't record this conversation or anything, but it seemed to make sense to me. Network probably wasn't all of the C&V material, but it seems to make sense that it was a large portion. And in retrospect, I really should have mentioned that Christian's Inferno sounded like it had a Network vibe to it and should have asked if this was at all related to C&V as well- I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't related, but the structure and overall feel are somewhat similar. I've seen you mention it, but I must have missed the big story. How'd you get to spend time with the band?

I'd like to listen to these songs I don't know how to post links but there are some on Youtube. We need to have some sort of GDC YouTube channel

I've been saying this since C&V rumors first sprang up. Everyone told me I was dead wrong. Nice to know there's some validity to it.

You could be wrong because the crew of HLAHG said they witness the creation of multiple albums,A punk album,American Idiot, Christmas Album,And A Space Themed Album,.Well,I could be wrong but i dont think C&V is Network
Todd Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 I don't think Money Money 2020was C&V. Maybe Supermodel Robots and one or two others, but the album in its entirety was not C&V. They're too new-wave and wouldn't fit with the "Kerplunk + Warning" description we've gotten, they wouldn't fit in with the title track or with Too Much Too Soon.

If it had been a straightforward Green Day recording with the effects removed and a standard mix it would have been a classic Green Day song. Even the lyrics are pretty straightforward GD. I wrote about it in the equipment thread where I posted some pics of the guitar rack and of me holding Blue. I didn't go nearly in depth with the Q&A as I should have, since there were a million things to talk about, but I received a less than total confirmation that there's C&V on the Network album- basically that I'd love to hear C&V someday and that I was told there were pieces of it in the Network material. If I (or any of you) ever have the chance again we should figure out exactly which parts came from C&V- the acknowledgement that Network was Green Day was pretty striking. Yeah, of course it was them, but it was funny to hear firsthand nonetheless.

It really was weird to hear come out of his mouth!

I'm sure one day we'll get the entire album in some form (a disc in a box set/compilation) and I cant wait to hear the version described.

Maybe when they breakup/they leak we get C&V but i personally think its just demos as Mike said they were just rough mixes

Wow, it makes perfect sense with the timing and everything. That makes me wonder how the original CV recordings sounded - I doubt their first intention was to record an album that sounded like The Network. What a shame the tapes were lost, I'd love to hear them.

JohnnyBloke Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 I made my version of the unrealesed album Cigarettes & Valentines. The album consists of demos from the 2000s (some demos have been remixed and remastered by me), some bsides and other songs that I believe would be on the album set. Set: Side A - The Rage 1. Foiled Can (Remastered 2003 demo by me) 2. Cigarettes & Valentines (fan mix made by someone but I added the intro) 3. Too Much Too Soon 4. What About Today (Remastered 2001 demo by me. This song sounds like a early version of Spike) 5. Lights Out 6. Governator 7. Clusterbomb (Corrected mix) 8. East 12th Street 9. Private Hell ft. Iggy Pop on vocals 10. Tales Of Another Broken Home (Mix by me) Side B - The Love 11. Things I've Heard Today (2001 demo. Sounds like a early version of Homecoming) 12. She's A Rebel 13. Rock And Roll Girlfriend 14. Hearts Collide 15. Right Hand A Rama (Mix by me) 16. Favorite Son 17. Shoplifter 18. Why Does It Always Rain On Me (2001 demo) 19. Minnesota Girl (Remastered demo by me) 20. When It's Time Bonus Tracks 21. Boys In The Bathroom Stall (2002 demo) 22. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town (Remastered demo by me) 23. I Fought The Law
