I just mapquested the driving distance. Thankfully, it is almost 14 hours. Now I don't have to figure out a way to break it to hubby.

btw...for anyone driving...I've heard there are always really long lines to get into the track so get started earlier than normal.

Come 2 Prague !!!

I'd pay anything to see Green Day at this point, but this is really expensive and the line-up is a complete bummer. Whatever, I don't have to worry about this. It's really positive that they're starting to tour again. Seems Billie said "little while" after all.

UGH, so, I'm taking a pole... do I buy the tickets or not?

No, if it was closer than 14 hours I would have been making hubby some nice drinks tonight. That is just a little far to drive.

Plus, shows seem to keep popping up. I'm sure there will be something in the NYC area eventually.

Aww, boo. :( I really don't expect them to come to Ohio again anytime soon, since they graced us with a three-day celebration.

Something's up their sleeve. I'm telling you.

I'm legitimately impressed that the people who put this festival together managed to create such a completely shitty line-up. It's not worth upwards of $300, even with Green Day in the line-up.

Can you buy 1 day tickets - the price would make it an expenive 3 days.

Sorry Kay just saw your other post.

Green Day has been giving a lot of places that no one cares about shows.

That's a lovely post.

UGH, UGH, UGH. :(

This is definitely within driving distance for me, but I do not have the stamina to stand around at a festival for hours, especially it it's boiling hot. I physically cannot do it.

And no single-day pass? That would have been the ONLY way I could have considered this, but I cannot afford that (even though the lineup is pretty good) and I could not survive three days. What a bummer. I fucking hate the rise of festivals in America. :fuckyou:

(I can't complain too much given I got to go to HOBHOF in Cleveland, but yknow, damn, this is a bummer!)

Do it! I think I'm buying a ticket tomorrow. It's a nice little road trip for us!

There are so many fucking festivals nowadays that it's ridiculous.

Ugh, I'm torn. It's a 4 and a half hour drive for me which isn't bad at all. I'd also really like to see Weezer and Bleachers and Flogging Molly is always fun...but I'm conflicted with that ticket price. I have no interest in seeing the other two headliners. Also, The Orwells were the WORST band I've ever seen live.

I guess I'm only going if I can convince a few of my friends to go. Would be a fun mini vacation this summer.

Saw them open for Arctic Monkeys? I got SO lucky that Columbus was the last show the Orwells opened for, and at my Detroit show we got Saint Motel, who was awesome and now they're blowing up and I love it!

That is so true. It used to be that there were a handful, New Orleans Jazz Fest, Bonaroo, Lollapallooza. And they all had awesome line ups. It was special to go to a festival. Now they are everywhere. No wonder they can't get great line ups anymore.

How in-demand do you think these would be? More importantly, how much would they be? Would it even be worth waiting? I'm a music festival virgin.

I wonder if Billie will travel to Kentucky in his new trailer.

Oh my God.

I hope this means more shows, please. I'm considering it but if they don't sell day tickets then no way.

I'm excited and sad at the same time

Maybe Billie will call Norah and they can play Kentucky

I've read the article on GDA, but none of the posts in this thrwad because I've just got home, so sorry if I'm repeating a point.

This caught me by surprise, I didn't expect them to be headlining a festival this summer. I thought to myself when i heard about this, that it is strange because bands usually only play headline shows at festivals when they are releasing music and promoting, and with Billie's recent comments it appears unlikely there'll be anything by August.

But either way, whether there's new music or not, this is great news!

IM LATE BUT OMG BECAUSE I SWEAR GREEN DAY, WEEZER AND BLEACHERS ARE MY TOP 3 FAVORITE BANDS??? WHY WHY WHY

why does nothing great ever happen in canada? we're nice.

I'm so torn. I could literally only go if they play on Saturday because I wouldn't be able to take off Friday or Monday since it's the beginning of the school year. I really don't think the 3 day pass would be worth it for me but at the same time I really really want to go. Do I take a risk and wait for single day passes and hope they play on Saturday?

Ugh, there are times where I hate having my "big girl" job and this is one of them. =/

Miranda Lambert is there I've just seen, maybe they do play some country song I think.

It's much like music in general today. Everything is so saturated that it's a bit much.

They did open for Arctic Monkeys down in Columbus and it was so bad. The lead singer was totally out of it. I saw Kongos open for The Airborne Toxic Event for free in Chicago back in 2014 and it was right before "Come With Me Now" was everywhere. Same thing happened with In The Valley Below. Saw them last fall and then "Peaches" was everywhere. I had never heard of either band when I saw them.

God, me too. I've never been to a festival and have no idea how to go about preparing.

I am for sure buying a ticket tomorrow. I convinced a buddy of mine to tag along and we shall have a grand time.
