AlissaGoesRAWR Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 I've been researching the idiots involved with this mess because I have a ~life and such, and here's what I've found so far... instead of tweeting at Green Day, everyone should find these fuckers and be mad at them. The hilarious thing is Nifi signed a 10-year agreement with Speedway Motorsports Inc. to create five similar festivals at other racing facilities. I wonder if they opted out of that? What's funny is no news agency cares enough to cover the festival's demise, because it experienced such little marketing to begin with and obviously so few people are angry about it being canceled. • Howard Mergelkamp, chief strategy officer: founder of Mosaik Partners, investment company based out of San Francisco area • Stephanie Edens, chief marketing officer: she founded her own event planning business, but her primary experience is in... the food catering business (it all makes sense now...?) and she is also based out of California • A.J. Nyland, talent booking: founder of Huka Enteratinment, based out of New Orleans... which looks to be pretty solid, so I have no clue what the fuck happened with this lineup From the Billboard story: The NiFi team of entertainment and hospitality professionals is “built of best-of-breed folks who know their segments of what they do very well,” says Mergelkamp. NiFi has partnered with Huka Entertainment founder A.J. Nyland (Huka, Hangout, Tortuga, Pemberton) for talent booking; also on board are festival veterans Chris Sorlie, production manager, and Chung Kuo (Lollapalooza, ACL Fest); CMO Stephanie Edens (Wolfgang Puck Catering); and CFO Michelle Fullbrook.

BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Capt´n Jack Sparrow... explains it all... Savvy?Capeesh?!
Mykee Mexx Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Capeesh?! I bet Nyland belongs to the crew of the Black Pearl. Tortuga. Never make deals with Capt´n Jack Sparrow. You´ll lose.
BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 I bet Nyland belongs to the crew of the Black Pearl. Tortuga. Never make deals with Capt´n Jack Sparrow. You´ll lose. Exactly, people were naive when they tried...maybe they hoped to see Johnny Depp. I wouldn't blame them for that - Black Pearl must've sounded promising. Btw. Nice to see you here ; )

AlissaGoesRAWR Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Damn, dox them bitches! I should totally get in touch with my Anonymous friends again! Wait... they're probably already reading this...
Sacredfire511 Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I understand why they may not be saying anything - and it is obviously part of some sort of contract when you look at all other artists. I don't know if I misunderstood your post but I felt the end was implying I was saying this is green days fault - which is not what I'm meaning to get across at all. Ohhhh, no no, when I said it wasn't their fault I was trying to say that Green Day wasn't in charge of the festival, therefore it wasn't their responsibility to say something. That's all I meant haha. I wasn't saying it was their fault (I don't know how it would be lol).

It would've been a greatest hits set list.

Give_Me_Novacaine90 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 The inaugural NiFi Festival was supposed to take place August 28 - 30 at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Kentucky featuring a diverse lineup ranging from Green Day to Gov't Mule to Hank Williams Jr. to Kings Of Leon to Built To Spill. Apparently the diverse lineup wasn't a big enough draw as festival organizers have made the decision to cancel the event. http://www.jambase.com/Articles/125766/Inaugural-NiFi-Festival-Has-Been-Cancelled

solongfromthestars Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 ^ That would be an amazing set. I wonder if they'll ever consider it again.
BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 This would be such a perfect setlist. Angel Blue, Before the Lobotomy and Peacemaker. It was just too good to happen obviously... Also, I didn't know Before the Lobotomy was in Eb.

BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 To be fair they did actually play those threeYeah, I know, but this setlist is particularly well put together.
YoungBlood Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Those 3 songs have never been played live on the same set list ; how ever at Dreamforce Gala 2013 they played Angel Blue live and Peacemaker and Before The Lobotomy were done at the sound check !
