sara_gd Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Hey! I'm coming from south Florida. I was planning to take a good ol road trip up to Kentucky, but maybe a flight could be something to consider! Any info please? I meant that I have very cheap flights from Spain to Miami I'm still looking for connections Miami - Kentucky by plane, maybe it's worth it, but I was asking for anyone doing that good al road trip mostly! Edit: Miami MIA - Cincinnati CVG with a stop in Atlanta is $185 round trip on the dates that suit me (26th to 30th), with Delta. It takes 4h 30 to go and 6h 20 to come back in total, it's less than by car anyway Don't know what the cost of the car trip would be, but the plane isn't too bad. I might go for this actually..... my final price turns out to be 666€ I'm so indecisive about this trip xD
Dirty Rotten Bastard Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I might go for this actually..... :) :) :)
JellyTime Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 my final price turns out to be 666€ I'm so indecisive about this trip xD You mean 666 euro for ticket back and forth and ticket for a festival?
Guest Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 That is so cheap for an international flight to east jesus nowhere, Kentucky! You should go for it. I paid over $600 just to fly from New York to Oklahoma one time.
Mary711 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Wow, Sara! Seems like you've found the cheapest flights ever.
BullwinkleCheech Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Why would people travel all over the country to see Green Day at some shitty festival? Wait for another year or two and they are touring again, likely to play somewhere nearer to you than this. It might save you guys from going broke too. Patience is a virtue.

Anyway, Green Day honestly isn't even the main attraction for me, this is just an excuse to go camping and pound alcohol with my mates with the added benefit of all of us getting to see our favorite band together. I'm pretty sure I'm spending less on this excursion than I've spent on any other Green Day-related activity I've done during my time as a fan.
Eva Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I'm not even seeing Green Day and I'm still going just for kicks so I mean.
sara_gd Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 You mean 666 euro for ticket back and forth and ticket for a festival? Just the planes back and forth, not the ticket for the festival or the hotel/camping/hostel/what I'm able to find... but it's still really cheap. That is so cheap for an international flight to east jesus nowhere, Kentucky! You should go for it. I paid over $600 just to fly from New York to Oklahoma one time. Wow, Sara! Seems like you've found the cheapest flights ever. Wow! That's expensive I know. The best part is that I think the price is reliable because it's through Iberia's website, when I find something in lastminute, gotogate, etc, I'm never sure about it. There's 3 seats left for the Madrid - Miami flight (it's just 250€....) so I should make up my mind soon But I see so many problems too I don't think it would be worth it if they don't do any show besides this one, and I guess we won't know that until the week before...

Patience is a virtue.Idk man this is a cool experience so I'm gonna take it. My plan is to do the craziest green day adventure next tour so travelling/spending money really isn't an issue for me. This is what I'm working for/saving my money for because to me this is really fun and something I've wanted to do for a long time. I guess it's all down to preference and how each person wants to spend their money. For me I'm more than happy to spend a lot to go half way across the world and have another adventure with my favourite band Personally, i don't like the idea of just waiting for them to come near me and go to only one show. If I've got the chance to travel and experience something totally new I'm gonna do it.
Mary711 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 It's not only for the band but for the memories. It's an adventure to explore the world, to meet old and new friends and make experiences you will never forget. No money can make up for that.
alaniluau Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 In most cases, people who globetrot for events like these are those who already have the resources and desire to travel. It's not "for Green Day" as much as it's for the adventure, with a show or two to sweeten the deal. If you were planning to visit a new land anyway, why not take the opportunity when your favorite band rolls into town? I'll concede that Kentucky may not be the most enthralling destination, but it's a hell of a place to absorb some true Americana. I can't fault people for wanting to see a bit more of the world and catch some music in the process.

I might have been a bit judging with my initial comment, so you'll have to excuse me for that
Jon Benjamin Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 While you're all there if you're traveling, might as well go six flags Kentucky kingdom amusement park.
Hero_Of_The_Hour Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Miranda Lambert is playing the same weekend...she better watch out for Billie's right hook
American Basket Case Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 While you're all there if you're traveling, might as well go six flags Kentucky kingdom amusement park. And/Or catch the Joan Jett & The Blackhearts concert on Sat night, Aug 29th, at the Kentucky State Fair. See 2 Hall of Fame bands in one weekend.

Jon Benjamin Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Is this technically in Ohio? According to Apple Maps it looks like it's over the border.
Guest Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Is this technically in Ohio? According to Apple Maps it looks like it's over the border. Nope. it's definitely in Kentucky.
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Is this technically in Ohio? According to Apple Maps it looks like it's over the border. Cincinnati sits on the Ohio-Kentucky border, anything past that is Kentucky. It's definitely in Kentucky. In the middle of nowhere in Kentucky, actually.
Cori Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 The Speedway is actually really close to the Indiana border. Less than 10 miles, according to Google Maps.
Jon Benjamin Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Highway (or state road?) 1039 is right by it haha. But I see, I was looking at the border wrong.
Dirty Rotten Bastard Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 So I just booked my flights for this whoops.

In the middle of nowhere in Kentucky, actually. Cincinnati might as well just be in Kentucky. Same goes for Toledo to Michigan. I just looked and saw that the NiFi twitter account has 415 followers...how embarrassing.
