Must be having trouble selling tickets? I wonder if prices will drop soon?

They're already refunding partial costs so they can slice ticket prices by 20%? How long have these tickets been available? Only a week or so, right?

Damn, it must suck to be the organizers of this festival right now.

Yeah, I bought them last week. Crazy they dropped already.

At this rate I may end up paying around as much as I would pay to see Green Day in a normal venue!

At this rate, they may end up paying you to attend.

It's probably really lucky for the festival that GD agreed to play because all Green Day fans are mental and show up to support the band no matter what.

edit: hehehe i see that the most expensive tickets are now $245. The organizers really fucked up

The lineup has the makings of a bad joke. A pop-punk outfit, a country singer and an alt-rock band walk into a bar...

No, the $30,000 Headliner passes are still available for anyone that wants to spend their yearly mortgage money on a concert.

Yeah, they just posted on Twitter that for a limited time 3 day passes will be $199.

Wow, they're REALLY trying to coerce people into buying those 3-day passes. :P I think it's great we're holding out now. Clearly the day passes will be dirt cheap, whenever they surface. Which they clearly will.

I never heard of dropped ticket prices before. So

I think the problem they are having is that they have a couple of big acts that alot of people want to see. I honestly don't know much about modern country, but is Miranda Lambert popular, would she be a big draw? I'm assuming she is. But, people don't want to spend the money on 3 day passes to see Green Day or Miranda Lambert and maybe one or two others they are interested in ( I would love ot see Weezer as well). So GD and Miranda fans are holding out for the 1 day passes. But, if they sell the one day passes, the day GD or Miranda is on will sell out and the other two will probably be sparse. So, they are trying to get the trhee day passes going so all three days will actually have some people at it. The problem is that the acts are too diverse. There is not enough to draw people for 3 days.

Miranda is very huge in the country genre

I'd say It's Taylor (that is if you count Taylor as country anymore) Carrie and Miranda are the top three women in country

prices are dropping already? oh man this is great

see alissa i told you it'd be fine if we waited to buy tickets!!!

Seriously, I owe you my life... or at least $490! I almost let my crazy fangirl tendencies get the best of me! :P I'm thinking we should expect day passes, and probably at $100 or less, right? I mean, if they're already dropping ticket prices for the three-day passes, they have to be desperate!

I just got off the phone with Ticketfly. In order to refund my tickets to adjust for the new ticket prices, they have to completely cancel the transaction and then I have to purchase it again at the new lower price. This would lead me to believe they won't be lowering prices anymore because that seems like an annoying process to keep going through. Sheesh, me and trying to buy Green Day tickets, am I right? :)

They did say that I could choose between a free parking pass or camping spot for the inconvenience, so that's pretty cool.

I doubt they lower three-day tickets again, but don't be surprised if/when $79 day passes become available.

I'm patiently waiting...

And by "patiently waiting", you mean "climbing up the walls and constantly refreshing the PC to see if day passes are available", right?

That's the most patient a GDCer can get now.

I still can't get over the fact that the only confirmed show for this summer takes place at a ridicuously expensive country festival in the middle of nowhe...Kentucky.

That's because they are probably getting paid a ridiculous amount of money.

Do we know if this $199 ticket price actually a "limited time" thing, or is it permanent? Why would they refund ticket purchases that have already happened if it was just a temporary promotion? I think they're just really desperate to sell anything...

I don't know that they're necessarily to the desperation point yet, but clearly they are very unhappy with their ticket sales to date if they're lowering the price like that. It's possible that they'll raise prices again later on if demand goes up, but it's the first year of a festival in the middle of fucking nowhere with a shit lineup of acts that have virtually nothing in common with each other. They're going to struggle.

No doubt, that's why are those tickets so expensive.
