I just watched that clip and I have one question, Ceadagh, where you the one that screamed out quality over quantity?

The fact of the matter is no one knows what the hell he meant by it.

Including him, probably.

He definitely said little...it's crystal clear.

you guys are seriously gonna keep this argument going? holy shit.

Thanks very much for the scans. Cool article! What Cavallo said sounds good to me, he did produce American Idiot and Dookie etc as well and the trilogy you know! Very much excited for whatever they come out with next.

Definitely does, like "a lil while". And being able to try and think back several days to being there in a crowd with hundreds of people around you shouting and squashing when he said it doesn't really give you an advantage in making out what was being said over listening to it recorded and judging it now :P. "Little" or "long" doesn't mean much anyway though . Either way he said a while and that most likely just means he probably won't be on stage again until they've had some more time off, made an album and finally go on tour, which is hardly anything to be concerned about.

Personally, based on stuff I know and past experiences with Billie, I take everything he says when in an emotional state with a grain of salt. I also feel like the context in which he said "This will be the last time I'm this close to you for a little/long while" is very open-ended.

Who is the you in this case? Fans in general? (This especially doesn't make sense because of their little meet-and-greet two days later, or maybe he meant audiences.) People of Cleveland? That audience specifically?

Also, by "this close" he could mean they're not going to play any small shows for a while, but that doesn't preclude arenas/stadiums/festivals, etc.

As for what he meant by "little/long while," is rather subjective, too. Does that mean several months? A year? A couple years? (Last one is the most unlikely.)

Billie's obviously been writing and demoing since Cavallo has heard some new stuff. And now it seems as if the band is gearing up to work on things again, especially since Mike said, "See you at band practice." The way I see it things are starting to happen again, and it may take a "little" while, but Green Day is going to back in action 'soon'.

When every single person who was actually there says "long" they're probably onto something.

yeha, you probably deaf... just listen to all the recordings around

I was closer to Billie than pretty much all of those recordings :P

Over the last year I've just gotten so tired of GDCers being so goddamn negative about everything. It's actually a big part of me not being as active as I used to be.

This is what it feels like when your parents say they don't love you

Who cares? Billie doesn't know what the fuck he's even talking about anyway.

He was probably shitfaced anyway.

Oh dear God, don't even start.

I actually heard a rumour that he was drinking wine backstage. Probably bollocks though.

OR IS IT

I knew it was coming and I still LOL'd. Still, doesn't matter. 10/10 would drink wine with Billie Joe.

Wasn't joking about the rumour though. Still, wouldn't be the first time he's drank since rehab.

Exactly. I don't understand why people act like anyone who goes to rehab will instantly relapse if they sniff a drop of wine. Like, we don't know his story or personal struggles, and there's no point to speculate whether he's drinking again or not, no matter the amount. Like, all I want is for him to be healthy enough to tour and make music I can enjoy? It's none of my business what else happens, y'know?
