DannyDirnt Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Honestly, I don't think they'll bring us new material very soon. Remember how they were scared to record an album after AI? Okay, so now imagine how they must feel about writing an album that lives up to a band that's in the HoF! When they return, I think I'll be happy with anything they bring us as long as it has good, deep lyrics. The trilogy really failed at that because it tried so hard to make simple lyrics that, in my opinion, they weren't simple but nonsensical. As for the promotion, I find it a good idea that they don't promote it so much if that makes them a more established and well-considered band. I'd rather have an album like Warning, which is very good but not well-know at all, than have another trilogy.
stuck-with-she Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 All I know is that the lyrics to the new songs are going to be really deep and meaningful. And I'm not just talking about the rehab stuff, can you imagine if Mike has written any songs about his experiences with Brit over the past year... If that's the case than the new album better come with a box of tissues!
Ritz Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 We are invisible and we are patient. So, I don't care how long it takes for them to roll out their next album.
That Dude Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Some people are talking about a second greatest hits album. The next one would already be a double-disc so they should just wait until the next album, and then in 2017 release a two disc set with 15 songs on each disc. Intergalactic Megahits: 2004 - 2016) It would contain 27 singles (presuming the new album has four) and three unreleased tracks, new or old. And like the first they are in order.
Cori Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 I've taken the liberty of planning out Green Day's next tour for them. They can thank me later. (Disclaimer: If they choose to do a giant world tour like this again I figure they'd probably need lots of breaks, probably between continents. So I guess this would stretch out over several months.) North America - A real tour this time, not the little piddly three week tour we got last time. They completely missed the southeast, northwest, and most of the Midwest. Maybe they could also do a second U.S. leg at some point. Central and South America - Mostly festivals, with probably one or two dates per country they've hit in the past. Europe - Probably a UK tour around the same time as Reading and Leeds, then same as South America with one or two dates per country. Asia - places they've hit in the past, with possibly going to India and/or Indonesia. Australia and New Zealand - would probably tie this one into Soundwave. And just for fun, a place they've never visited: Cape Town, South Africa. (Today's Snapchat story thing inspired me on this. ) So yeah, that would be a huge world tour and I don't know how likely it is that they would do something that big again, but hey, it would be cool.

I doubt they would headline soundwave twice. They better friggin do a stand alone tour.

It would be completely unfair that they toured the whole US but only the UK. If they're gonna do a World Tour they totally need to hit Italia, Germany, Spain and France at very least. PD: Reworded it, it's not unfair for someone to want anything. Sounded like an ass
Chin for a Day Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 It's completely unfair that you want them to tour the whole US but only the UK. I like that, we are greedy over here.

Sounded like an ass I included the rest of Europe in my thing. That was the "one or two dates per country" part. I was just going off what they've done in the past. No harm meant.

UNICORN VOMIT Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I unashamedly want at least one huge stadium song.

UNICORN VOMIT Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 What do you understand exactly for huge stadium song? Well since I was listening to 21cb at the time I would say EJN - & I would also like another like brutal love to end the set.
stuck-with-she Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I call for a Pinhead Gunpowder and Frustrators reunion!
Libertine Angel Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I call for a Pinhead Gunpowder and Frustrators reunion! I concur, though I doubt it'd happen.
Hermione Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I think Pinhead Gunpowder and Frustrators are always a possibility, just needs to be a window when all the guys are free and feel like it. Knowing Bill Schneider is doing stuff with Billie and Aaron was at the hall of fame induction makes me a lot more optimistic for the chance of Pinhead doing something in the future, when the situation was that last we'd heard Bill had stopped working with Green Day and Billie apparently wasn't thrilled with what Aaron had written about them in the In China With Green Day edition of Cometbus a few years ago I didn't think there was much chance of it but seems things are good now.
Spike Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 The Frustrators need to play London. Everything else can wait.
Libertine Angel Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 The Frustrators need to play London. Everything else can wait. I would fucking kill to see them live. Preferably in somewhere tiny like the 100 Club.
Spike Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I would fucking kill to see them live. Preferably in somewhere tiny like the 100 Club. Well yeah, I can't really see them selling out the O2 anytime soon. Them playing the 100 Club or the Barfly would be a dream come true.

Not arenas or suchlike, no, but I wouldn't be too surprised if they pushed for Brixton or the Scala. I've not been to the Barfly, but I've heard good things about it.

I haven't been to the Barfly either, but I'm seeing Skarlett Riot there in a few months so it must be pretty fucking tiny I'd be surprised by Brixton, it's pretty massive for a "small" venue. That said, I don't know how well known The Frustrators are amongst casual Green Day fans.

I was thinking the same, but yeah, I'm not sure how well-known they are either.
captain peroxide Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Bill had stopped working with Green Day and Billie apparently wasn't thrilled with what Aaron had written about them in the In China With Green Day edition of Cometbus I would like more information about these things, please.
