Guest Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 How the fuck is this still open? I reported all the mods for failure to moderate, but Andres has yet to reply.
Hermione Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 There's no need to close this thread, only a need for people to stop filling it with spam and just not click on it/post in it if they're not interested in the subject of it Harvester I'm really glad if you're feeling less troubled about things, Green Day related and in general. At the end of the day they're just people in a band making music that we can enjoy if we want, listening to them/following news about them etc should be fun and enjoyable so I hope it can be moreso for you.
BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Billie Joe Armstrong the Master of Sarcasm I like that. Harvester, I'm glad you feel better. Taking things too seriously is a common problem among Green Day fans, so it's great you've managed to embrace it and make the best of it. Hopefully more of us will come to similar spiritual enlightenment.
Mykee Mexx Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I'm lost Like the rest of us. It´s GDC funny farm.
Billie Hoe Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Like the rest of us. It´s GDC funny farm. yeah same...
localinsomniac Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I was a self-absorbed asshole thinking only about how hurt I felt when I discovered Green Day. Over the years, having been on forums... I have learned more about them and I no longer feel vindictive. Because of Green Day I am learning to control my temper, accept whatever happens, and stop freaking out when something seems wrong. So when I was angry at them... they were in fact, helping me. For that I am grateful. Billie Joe Armstrong is a wise person, if people stopped thinking of him as a master of sarcasm it would cause a great deal of trouble... I did not think of him as sarcastic. I held on to every word I heard and believed what he said. That is why I got hurt. So it was my fault. I apologize. Cool, but maybe start at the beginning?
Trotsky Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 All Billie Joe asks of any of us is one more fucking minute. He's not Justin Bieber.

Alan86 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 YOU CANT TELL ME WAT TO DO D;< Your're right I can't, it's just a little friendly advise, what you choose to do with this advise is completely up to you. Best of luck in your future endeavours.
UNICORN VOMIT Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Don't do drugs kids Shouldn't it be take your meds kids
Alan86 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Shouldn't it be take your meds kids That's another way of looking at it, I guess.
Iva Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Taking things that seriously is a problem of anybody who discovers something that speaks to them. As far as I am concerned, you did not even have to apologise, at least not to us who had similar experiences. Hope you now have a healthy view of the band and their music and that you're feeling well yourself.
Billie Hoe Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Okay wait wait, you met them and they were assholes or what???? I don't understaaaaaaaaand
BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Okay wait wait, you met them and they were assholes or what???? I don't understaaaaaaaaandNo one does.
Hermione Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Okay wait wait, you met them and they were assholes or what???? I don't understaaaaaaaaand From what gather from her posts in Green Day Chat on this subject and the OP, she didn't like and felt troubled by certain aspects of Billie's personality that she perceived. But now she's rethought the way she was looking at it and doesn't feel that way any more. (Obviously feel free to correct me/give your own clarification if you want Harvester)
Mykee Mexx Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Then there´s no need to apologize but to celebrate ones own liberation.
Hermione Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Then there´s no need to apologize but to celebrate ones own liberation. Agreed
Billie Hoe Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 From what gather from her posts in Green Day Chat on this subject and the OP, she didn't like and felt troubled by certain aspects of Billie's personality that she perceived. But now she's rethought the way she was looking at it and doesn't feel that way any more (Obviously feel free to correct me/give your own clarification if you want Harvester) Oh okay... Well, that's the problem with putting people on a pedestal and expecting them to act perfectly all the time. It's difficult to please the public. But I get the sentiment, I've done it before. I get that it hurts when they do something that shocks you and makes you completely flabbergasted, but then again they're just people and not perfect role models all the time, especially not in the public eye. It's important to get with the idea that they're just people and forget your own perception of them. People are doing it with Kurt Cobain and think of him as a saint (literally, they call him Saint Kurt or Holy Kurt, smh) when he was a heroin addict and probably did a lot of things that people don't want to know about...
walking_c0ntradicti0n Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Let's just make this easier and get Harvester to elaborate?
Hermione Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Let's just make this easier and get Harvester to elaborate? She liked my post so it can't be far off. Don't really see how it's that hard to understand anyway.
BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 She liked my post so it can't be far off. Don't really see how it's that hard to understand anyway.most are just pretending they don't understand..I understand her perfectly though, it's sometimes difficult to like BJ or not to be critical/angry at him.
Chin for a Day Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 most are just pretending they don't understand..I understand her perfectly though, it's sometimes difficult to like BJ or not to be critical/angry at him. I have to say I'm one that doesn't understand. I don't get how you can be angry with someone you don't know. I know that I have a perception of what he is like in real life, but I have no idea if that is accurate, and will most likely never know. Also, how can you be angry for someone making choices or mistakes that does not affect you?
BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I have to say I'm one that doesn't understand. I don't get how you can be angry with someone you don't know. I know that I have a perception of what he is like in real life, but I have no idea if that is accurate, and will most likely never know. Also, how can you be angry for someone making choices or mistakes that does not affect you? Strangely enough, you can. I'm not saying it's reasonable and, personally, I always try to avoid doing it, but getting emotionally involved too much is pretty common. I don't get angry with people I don't know because I'm aware that their lives are none of my business and don't idolise them. If you idolise someone it must be super hard not to get overwhelmed with emotion, especially when you see them doing something so wrong and harmful as substance abuse. Personally, I know BJ's personal life is not my business at all and I respect it, but it doesn't mean I don't care. Even though he's just my favorite musician and I don't know him personally I still care about him and want the best for him because he means a lot to me. If someone's deeply emotionally attached to him it's logical that thay respond more stronly, for example are mad at him.
