Oh I hope to god he won't play St Jimmy in the (yet non-existent) movie :D:D

so do I. I'm worried he'd just embarrassed himself but I if it wasn't a complete piece of shit I'd enjoy watching him. Besides St. Jimmy being older kind of makes sense. He's an evil alter ego so the character can be performed by an older actor.

He would most definitley not embarrass himself. He was unbelievable in the role on broadway. He has the ability, but I also think he is getting too old to be believable as the character. I don't think the issue is ability wise though, he has done it already, and done it very well.

I never watched the Musical (sadly) but I think it kinda would make sense to use the same person? I mean if Jesus is shizophrenic (I guess he is), wouldn't it be best to use the same actor for both Jesus and Jimmy? I mean, it's not like he physically transforms into another person

But Jimmy is supposed to be his alter ego, his "bad" side. So, it is more effective with a different actor. Plus the way it is staged, they are often on stage together.

Give it another couple of decades and we can go straight to the sequel, Geriatric Genius. Billie and Amanda are reunited in an old folks home. They steal the keys to the medicine cabinet, hijack an ambulance and go on a crazy road trip, picking up various senile rock stars along the way.

Everyone would watch that, it already sounds Oscar-worthy!

Since this was a false alarm, and we already have threads to talk about the stage show, I'll go ahead and close this to avoid confusion.
