By the way Warning was more successful than the trilogy and Billie was chubby or "fat" during that period and perfectly slim in his sweatshirt during the trilogy era. Oh and Billie is not the only member of the band. Tre is fat right now so I guess they are fucked as far as you guys are concerned. It's so hard being a boyband these days. Sigh. why are you always doing the most? chill out, damn.

I don't know what the hell you do with it. I like my music good. I don't like my music bad. It's that simple. I listen to punk and rock because there is less bullshit than pop music where everybody looks like Barbie and Ken but most of them sound like strangled cats and their songs are recycled shit and my 3 year old niece could write better lyrics. I liked Barbie and Ken too...but I'm not seven anymore. I'm over that crap. I see past the bullshit. Tall, small, thin, fat, blondle, gray, wrinkled old as fuck WHATEVER...music is what I'm buying not a godamn ticket to a runway show. Since when were Green Day a boyband? It's called sarcasm...

Hence the JOKE about boybands. CLEAR enough yet or does anyone need a fucking translator ps. I didnt "criticise pop bands for looking like barbie and ken"...that is the "ideal" body image so therefore I'm saying they look perfect yet sound aweful.

The way they look doesn't change the music, but fat strung out Billie doesn't sell posters and T-shirts and buttons and pictures, etc. I know if I'm putting a T-shirt on, I want hot Billie on it. They are in the business to make money, if they weren't they never would have left Gilman Street. Looks, image are important everywhere in the music business, not just pop. There was a time when I thought David Lee Roth was hot, then he cut his hair and I realized he wasn't.

Billie's face has made the band a lot of money/popularity. Even if they don't care (though I think they do care about their image to a certain extent) their record label will.

People expect a certain level of performance from Green Day, and if he delivers something less than that while sober, he's really just scamming people out of what could be great. Obviously it helps to have a signature "look," but I think the fact that they make music I love, along with the dont-give-a-fuck attitude, sense of humor, etc, is what really makes them attractive. (Although blonde Bille could probably help sell thousands of records alone. )
