BetterThanAir Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Tre > Dookie I laughed so hard at this. Thanks. Now that I think of it, I am shocked American Idiot wasn't chosen. But I'm pleased Green Day was number one for something like that.
Z J Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 "It has a pop mentality to it."- Dan O'Conner... No it doesn't? yeah it really does Well punk didn't really have a name at that time. The entire green day catalog is punk bro. lmao
Pat1308 Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Since this is Kerrang, I'm not really surprised. Heck, given the chance I think they might have very well promoted all of Green Day's back catalog to #1 actually. Though really, to be honest I have this vague feeling that they chose Dookie because that IS pretty much the 'other' Green Day record non-fans (and some casual fans) really know aside from AI. (In a number of cases, the only other Green Day record they know apart from AI.) And Kerrang as far as I can see have done AI to death...maybe they were going for a little more variety?
PleasedToMeetMe Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 The Ramones are TOTALLY Pop Punk. They were totally influenced by pop music from the 50's and 60s and played it fast and loud. The Ramones didn't have punk bands to look up to, they created their own music.
