You mean use the original recording and just add a new guitar track? If so, no. It can be the guitar track by itself, but I really doubt it'll get you too far when other people do full covers.

Could I use the vocals from the original and do everything else?

I'd prefer no tracks from the original.

Just sent mine in! Let me know how well the mp3 works, just so I know if I need to put it on SoundCloud or not.

Voting will take place soon. I had to leave for a family emergency. Matt is helping sort the entries out and put them up for voting.

We'll pick our top 10 favorites.

Ermmmm... There's just five there...

Well, I'll just leave my cover here (Who wrote holden caulfield?) so that at least somebody can listen to it.

Alright, i fucked up. I had to leave earlier this week for a family emergency. Because of that I tried to rush along the process for the cover contest and in doing so missed some entries that the other team members didn't even have a chance to listen to. So we're going to go back and vote on all the entries again. The top 10 will be selected and voted on tomorrow.

Wow, some really tough competition I'm up against here! Danny's "Dominated Love Slave" has amazing production value and real creativity; Red Button Peacekeepers' "No One Knows" is faithful but different; Hunter's "2000 Light Years Away" has a chill vibe; that "80" cover has a raw garage sound and that breakdown was pretty cool; Somatic Dreams' "Holden Caulfield" had a different vibe and sara_gd's voice is quite beautiful; Francesco's "Razorbacks" was simple, straightforward, and really folksy; Undefined Heroes' "Christie Road" also had a raw garage sound; and both Johan's "Welcome To Paradise" and Jon's "2000 Light Years Away" were faithful and straightforward.

As I said before, if I don't win, I'd be totally okay (if not a little bummed), but I still really hope I do!

Voted for you! :D some of those I couldn't even listen to completely, they were kinda gross to my ears. Yours was great though
