Mayonaise Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 That's a very good thought here. I wonder how possible it is though... it would be a bit of a cheesy move, wouldn't it? Though I'd totally love it if they did that, I like the song a lot Also, the rep bets could be an actual thing, I'd totally join in. It's basically saying "We love you all, so here's a song about weed!" I don't care if they play it here or not, I just want to see them play it live. Same with "I Want To Be Alone". Which is in my opinion one of the most forgettable Green Day songs. It's not bad, if anything it's the complete opposite, but it's just kind of there.
deadair Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 I'd predict something like: 1. Welcome To Paradise 2. Longview (the song that catapulted them into the mainstream) 3. Boulevard Of Broken Dreams or Holiday While I'd think it would be fitting to see them play Christie Road or 86. with the limited amount of time and songs they get to play, it probably isn't very likely that either of those will be played.
Haushinka! Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 If they play anything from 1039 Smooth, i'll be happy! Like many of you have said, i'm sure they'll play a track from Dookie and American Idiot. Some songs that I personally would love for them to play: Letterbomb Nice Guys Finish Last Stuck With Me Having A Blast Android Going to Pasalacqua
ollhjr Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 -Kill the DJ -Nightlife -Last Ride In IN THAT ORDER!! But here are the three songs I think they will really play: -Basket Case -American Idiot -Going to Pasalacqua Here are a few other songs I could see them playing: She, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Jesus of Suburbia, Good Riddance, Welcome to Paradise, Longview, or Brain Stew. There are a few others I'd love to see them play, but these seem like reasonable alternatives.
Mayonaise Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Why are people going "DER LAST RIDE IN" like it's a bad song? It's a great instrumental! I listen to it all the time doing homework!

It's less of it being a bad song, and more of an odd choice to somehow represent their sound and entire career.
shakerattleandroll Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 409 In Your Coffeemaker would be amazing... Imagine a HD proshot video of that <33333333
unextraordinarygirl Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 *cough* Dominated Love Slave *cough* LOL jk I hope they play more of their uptempo songs but I could see Billie choosing Wake Me Up When Sept. Ends and Good Riddance because that was a huge song for them. Maybe they could play: Welcome to Paradise, or Going to Pasalaqua. I Was there would be cool too. I love that song. I would like When I Come Around or Longview and off AI The song AI or Holiday.
Shondells Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 I'm sure it'll be Basketcase and American Idiot, plus one from the Lookout era. I hope not 2LYA as we've seen them play that a lot at live shows over the years. I'd personally love to see Dry Ice, Christie Road or Private Ale.
Libertine Angel Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Has anyone said Paper Lanterns yet? That seems like a plausible choice! I had considered that as well, but for some reason my mind just gravitated away from it.
GuitarPunk94 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 GD could do everything .. but my (realistic?) guess is that they will play a song they started with (=1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours), a song from their most successfull album (=dookie), and of course a song from AI which brought them back into the worldwide spotlight and changed a whole (political) generation
Yojimbo Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 If they are going for pre-Dookie, Dookie and American Idiot type of thing, my guesses would be Christie Road, Basket Case (or Longview) and maybe American Idiot (or BOBD).
JellyTime Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 1. Going To Pasalacqua 2. Basket Case/Longview/Welcome To Paradise (I think every song from Dookie is equally amazing, so it's hard to choose) 3. Jesus Of Suburbia (I know, probably it's too long, but in my opinion it's the best song from AI, it just need to be here!)
ThranaM Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 I hope they play some of their least played songs. I just hope they won't play BoBD, Holiday or Know Your Enemy and all those overplayed songs. They need to mix it up a bit more. 1. Sweet Children 2. Deadbeat Holiday 3. Dirty Rotten Bastards. I think that would an absolute killer. But we all know they're gonna play American Idiot, Basket Case and Longview or something..
Karl Karlson Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 When is the induction? In April? Well, this is going to be a loooong thread. I predict it will get well over 50 pages - what are your guesses?

Those three songs would never happen at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, although I would LOVE to see them start playing Dirty Rotten Bastards live whenever they start touring again, but even that is unlikely. I actually serious doubt that Billie even remembers all the words to Sweet Children and Deadbeat Holiday, as he couldn't get through more than a verse of The Grouch and Castaway on the 21st Century Breakdown tour, both of those songs which were initially played a lot around the time they first came out. Deadbeat Holiday was barely played live when it came out, if at all. To be perfectly honest, I like BOBD, Holiday, and Know Your Enemy more than American idiot, Basket Case, and Longview. Guessing I'm in the minority on that one

Bob2123 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 This would be much easier with 4 songs. I feel like they need to fit Good Riddance in there, but if they do they need to choose two songs from AI/Dookie/Lookout era.

We don't know for sure that they won't be able to play four, for whatever that's worth
Yojimbo Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Someone here pointed out that maybe all the inductees could do sort of a medley at the end which could very well include Time of Your Life.
Haushinka! Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Someone here pointed out that maybe all the inductees could do sort of a medley at the end which could very well include Time of Your Life. I hope they do that instead of Joan's I Love Rock & Roll...
R_Z-Log Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Someone here pointed out that maybe all the inductees could do sort of a medley at the end which could very well include Time of Your Life. This just made my heart leap!
Chin for a Day Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 This just made my heart leap! That was me, and I could see a medley starting with Lean on Me, going into I Love Rock and Roll and ending with Time of Your Life.
