Sanity Loan Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Cleveland.com says that the band said on their website there would be a "special announcement" during the induction ceremony. Ummm no? http://www.cleveland.com/music/index.ssf/2015/04/green_day_announces_surprise_s.html
JOE THE X-KID Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I can see this 'special announcement' being either a new album or them signing to a new record label.
jumpsalty Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I was wondering where that quote was from, part of me thought it was an April Fools. Interesting that they'd say that, but there wasn't anything like that on their website that I ever saw
Guest Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I can see this 'special announcement' being either a new album or them signing to a new record label. Except that there is no special announcement. It was completely made up.
Chin for a Day Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I can see this 'special announcement' being either a new album or them signing to a new record label. I cannot see Warner Brothers dropping them, they have made way too much money for them. Plus, does the public really care what record label they are on?
Chin for a Day Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 The Rock Hall is doing a poll on the greatest moments in Rock Hall history and Green Day's medley of Teenage Lobotomy/Rockaway Beach/Blitzkreig Bop is winning. It doesn't really matter much, but it is nice. They've got 32% of the vote http://rockhall.com/voting/the-greatest-moments-in-rock-hall-history/ The rock hall induction ceremony is always such a stiff crowd. I expect my fellow GDC'ers will change that this year.

desertrose Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum 6 mins · Who remembers Woodstock '94? Among the more infamous moments of "Mudstock" was Green Day's performance turned mud fight, during which Billie Joe Armstrong wore this black shirt and "question mark" tie, which will be featured in the #RockHall2015 exhibit in #Cleveland, opening April 11: https://rockhall.com/exhibits/2015-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame-inductee-exhibit/ To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, the Rock Hall is going big with a new 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee exhibit featuring never-before-seen interviews and performance highlights from this year's Inductees, music pumping through Klipsch audio speakers and a collection featuring dozens of historic and iconic instruments, handwritten lyrics, art and more -

Sanity Loan Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Anyone know what kind of dress code there is for this event?
Guest Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Anyone know what kind of dress code there is for this event? If you're going to the induction itself, a tie would be in order. If you're going to the simulcast, who gives a fuck?
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Anyone know what kind of dress code there is for this event? Sexy AF. I know that's what I'll be wearing.
Whatsinaname Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I have two simulcast tickets. I have no clue what I'm going to wear. Since I haven't booked a hotel yet, I'm thinking I'll stay somewhere on the outskirts of Cleveland, drive to the HOF early and park in one of the parking garages, and spend the day touring the museum until show time. I'll be with my 21 year old pregnant daughter so she can drive me back to the outskirt hotel at the end of the night! We're going to make some awesome memories Is there going to be a red carpet? I thought I read an earlier post about there being one.
Sanity Loan Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 If you're going to the induction itself, a tie would be in order. If you're going to the simulcast, who gives a fuck? Yeah, I'm going to the induction ceremony.
Guest Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Granted, this is from back in 2001, but note the suits and tuxedos.
Mykee Mexx Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Is there going to be a red carpet? I thought I read an earlier post about there being one. Dear, GD are so mainstream...
Billie Hoe Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I wish I could go too.... This is so unfair In times like this living in the USA would be of advantage
desertrose Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Rock Hall @rock_hall 6 hours ago Attn @GreenDay fans: Remember #Woodstock94 mudfight? @BJAofficial's shoes r still muddy!

Mar Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 To be fair how many of those in the seats are just fans? That's what I'm thinking - the floor people are probably rich as fuck and friends/family of the inductees. I think the fans in the upper levels will be a lot more casual. I'm wearing a dress and I sometimes wonder if I'm going to be too dressed up!
lizziebix Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 There's no such thing as being overdressed to an event like this. But most importantly is to be comfortable in what you are wearing.
Guest Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 we're all doing fancy dress! might be overdoing it a bit but i never get the chance to dress up so i'm really excited. kay and i plan on flashing our tits at security to walk the red carpet anyway #celebs
Teenage Kicks! Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I didn't even think about what to wear.... Hmmmmm black dress or plaid pencil skirt and sweater with creepers
