Spoopy Doo Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 To me this post is just the proof that the Trilogy era is still going on. They went from Uno to Cuatro, and now Billie is clearly saying they have to reach 15. Lots of new Trilogy b-sides are coming guys! Well to be fair a couple of them were better than several tracks that made the albums, so...
Mykee Mexx Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Sorry, I should reveal the secret. It´s about my 15th anniversary at my job, and since I´m working in an ecological sector it´s called Green Day. Sorry for the disappointment and confusion...
PanicAttack! Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 70% - It means a new album in 2015 (and a 2016 World Tour) 20% - It means just a tour or some shows (maybe along with a Greatest Hits album?) 5% - It means a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction 4% - It means they'll just get back into jamming together (no promises) 1% - It means a break-up I think he knows exactly how the fans would interpret that picture along with those hashtags. If it was something else I think he would've made it more specific. Edit: I moved up "just a tour" to number two, and gave it 20% instead of 10% based on Mike's tweet saying "probably" about a tour next year, and I think it unlikely that they would both record and release an album and go on tour for it, both in the close proximity of one year. Could be just a tour after all, because an album would definitely not be released before late 2015 I don't think.
Karol Oliveira Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 My bets are on the "It means they'll just get back into jamming together". Just going back to the Green Day routine of practising, writing songs and preparing things for the future. It also could be about the early days documentary.
Mary711 Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 It's Green Day so you most definitely never know.
JOE THE X-KID Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 There's no way they'd tour without a new album.
Cameron. Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 There's no way they'd tour without a new album. It's been done plenty of times before.
PanicAttack! Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 My bets are on the "It means they'll just get back into jamming together". Just going back to the Green Day routine of practising, writing songs and preparing things for the future. It also could be about the early days documentary. Yes, either way it would be a given that they get back into the studio and start jamming, but I still think that this picture means more than just "we'll start jamming again sometime in 2015". I think they've already had some sessions, and have set for a 2015 release. Likely Billie Joe has a lot of songs already, maybe even a broad idea of the direction of the album. This is all speculations of course, but that's the vibe I get from his post. I don't think it's just the documentary. There's no way they'd tour without a new album. No, not based on their history, but never say never, if there was ever a time in their career where I would say a tour without an album would be a good thing, it would be now. They've come down from their most successful time of their career, and their last effort had more downs than it had ups, but it seems what they did great throughout that was touring. The 99 Revolutions Tour also seemed to slowly separate itself from the albums it represented either way. They had their 2002 Pop Disaster Tour, which had the band in a similar position. It had been 8 years of slow decline, and Warning which flopped in a similar way to the Trilogy. They released a greatest hits- and a B-side compilation and took some time to reinvent themselves. They went on a short tour and then went back to work. Billie Joe even did some acting during this period to further force the parallel; If Uno, Dos and Tré is to American Idiot what Warning was to Dookie, then I'd say, take your time, and give us another really great album.
Invention Convention Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I had so much to say throughout all this but I completely forgot. To be honest, lately, GDC has had an empty feeling. With nothing but reminiscences. But this is so totally fucking awesome and reminds me why I joined the damned forum in the first place. So first things first- "DookieLukie" bloody hell, your information is such fucking shit. "Mike and Tre are DONE with green day" anyway, I will come back to that in a bit. My speculation going back to when Demolicious was released was that like Panic Attack's. The next album would be the big one, and possibly the final one. Just 12 or so songs all with the message of 99 Revolutions as the world is in such chaos. (Billie Joe will have some great material on that, I'm sure.) But how about it?; end the recording career with a bang, but of course still tour for the rest of their lives. However, in hindsight I don't think ending anything to do with Green Day even enters their minds. Nor mine. Infact I don't want that to happen. HYPOCRISY!! < I'll get murdered for that. It's so hard to tell. But 2012-15 is a fairly long time and so it could maybe be just an EP maybe? I don't know, just shooting from the hip. But I think the obvious thing is Billie Joe has not stopped writing songs and Green Day have not and will not break up, no one trust DookieLuikie. On the subject of such user, did everyone forget this? Tour? Did no one even think of this? Yeah, so I'm guessing a tour. Or maybe the probably means that they are recording a new album so they are probably going to go on tour with it? Anyway, Mike for one is not done with Green Day. TIME WILL TELL! #thefutureisnow Thanks for an awesome thread and an awesome buzz and atmosphere.
PleasedToMeetMe Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 You guys are all a bunch of disbelievers. "this will probably be their last album", "there's no way they could possibly pull off putting out an album in 2015, there's too little time" . . have you guys forgotten who we're talking about here? Fuck.
Sofouska Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Well as far as I know they are people with families and obligations, and they'd want to release something good?
GuitarPunk94 Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 maybe we all just overextend and all this speculation is just shit .. billie surely has GD on his mind like 24/7 coz GD is his life #realist

Chin for a Day Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Everyone is assuming that they haven't started on a new album. For all we know, it's already done or at the very least, started.
JOE THE X-KID Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I don't get how you could think Green Day will break up. I mean seriously? After all they've said in the past besides the fact that music is their life, they're not gonna just stop now. They're still young.
Cath Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 ohhhh that reply from mike got me happy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yojimbo Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Am I the only one who thinks that DookieLukie is just playing with you all?? Why else would he go around posting that in every other thread other than just to piss off all of you.
Dolphin Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Hopefully they go on tour, I am excited for whatever
T.C Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I don't see how Billie could predict anything especially when Brit just went in for another surgery. I think a new tour would happen on their next project though, not an album. I had so much to say throughout all this but I completely forgot. To be honest, lately, GDC has had an empty feeling. I think a new tour would happen on their next project though, not an album. We all assumed Mike wasn't serious with this, but who knows! They could of been working on it for awhile now. Also it looks like Brit has been given the all clear, going on her recent instagram posts.
Dolphin Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I am guessing it will probably be an album because the green day 15' thing means an album to me, I'm probably wrong but that's my guess.

I know she posted a soundwave photo a few months back saying how she misses it. Makes me more excited!

inthehallwaynow Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Has anyone said they thought this was going to be about a dick pic yet?
Mary711 Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I don't get why everyone suggests either an album or a tour. I mean if we get a new album, they're obviously going on tour again. Maybe just a few shows in 2015 and the bigger ones the year after but most likely they will do the small clubs again, too. So either is really exciting.
