Jeff posted a clue saying more Purple then Green, so it is very unlikely what he is talking about has anything to do with Green Day.

Maybe he was trying to throw folks off lol

If Jeff is in on the clues I'd think it's most likely as tour as Jeff hasn't had a role in the studio at least yet

Green Day Goes Electro, Rap and Death Metal and Releases A New Single "Come Out With Me Tonight (A Song for the Night") , Featuring Miley Cyrus

The frontman of the Calfiornian punk band said in our interview

-Y'know, I'm very exhilarated by the new songs I've written. We tried some new styles, at the same time still mysteriously continuing the, y'know, "back to basics" theme of The Trilogy." I've come up with great metaphors and having such amazing collaborators as Miley, Will.iam and Swimmers was very helpful when I was writing those lyrics, y'know.

When questioned about the themes of the album, the 42- year-old elder stateman, who was wearing Buddy Holly-styled glasses, a Nickelback t-shirt and pants which were falling off, said:

-It's a party album, but it has a softer side, y'know. One ballad I especially love was inspired by Twilight, called "Bite Me Hard (You Know Where"). It's a piano-based ode to their love affair, and I am looking forward to playing it live. Another favourite of mine is "We Will Be Having Sex Tonight", which is a raucous rock song in the tradition of Nickelback, y'know, sexy guitars and controversial lyrics, and it refers to some of their songs, y'know, everyone knows those songs, and they themselves are featured in the chorus. "No Alcohol, Monsier" is a black metal-styled song about the dangers of drinking, sung partly in French and partly in Old Norse, y'know, c'est la vie, and Thor är arg nu.

The album will be released 1.27.2015 and it will include 14 new songs and a techno remix of the hit song "Makeout Party". Green Day will play a show that will be broadcast on Discovery Science on 12.6.2014.

Below is the video of their first single Come Out With Me Tonight (A Song for the Night) which features Billie Joe and Miley Cyrus dancing sensually. We hope you enjoy.

You forgot to mention that according to the frontman this is the best song he'd ever written.

"Bite Me Hard (You Know Where)"

I.just.can't.stop.laughing! :D :D :D :D :D

Also, Discovery Science? That's the only channel I truly watch, so I'd buy that. NERDS ARE PEOPLE, TOO!

It was the only American tv channel I could come up with. My knowledge of the world wide world of television is very limited.

We used to have it but it did cost lot and we watched the telly so rarely so we don't have those paid channels anymore. But I did love it. And I miss it

Like the rest of you I would love a new album/tour next year but I dunno...maybe Billie was referring to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the two documentaries (early years one and the East Bay Punk one) featuring the band (and likely coming out in 2015)? It seems impossible that they recorded an album or even worked on one at all this year as some people suggested. Every time one of them farts someone tweets about it or posts it on IG and Tre has been living in Newport (and rarely leaves except to holiday), Mike posted himself that he us the sole carer for his family with Britt ill and had to focus on his family while Billie has been filming movies in NYC (Like Sunday Like Rain & Geezer) recording with Norah Jones in NYC (and all that followed that) and playing with the Replacements and even that thing with The Shrives and writing songs for These Paper Bullets. In short Billie has been all over the place and mad busy, Mike has said it's understandably all about his family right now and Tre has been in Newport (making stupid videos about fiiiiish) so I can't fathom how they could have already worked on the album. Billie obviously can always write but recording etc of albums takes a while so I question if he actually meant a new album in '15 or just what I said above.

"UPDATE: This story seems to be false." :shifty:

Even though this whole article (and all of the speculation) is based on nothing, it's still nice to think that if and when they do start properly working on a new album, they will do it in secret behind closed doors a la American Idiot/21st CB. The making of the trilogy was an amazing and unprecedented interactive experience, and I loved it and all the behind the scenes videos we got to see, but in the end it was probably overkill. The mystery and secrecy surrounding the next album is half the fun, so I like to think that, even if it's not happening right now (because Billie is filming a movie and Tre is somewhere and Mike is somewhere else), it's how it will be happening soon.

Still waiting on those rehab songs :)

I personally hope it means Green Day will go on tour as a 3-piece band playing only their classics from back when they used to play live as just the 3 guys. And hopefully only play club shows.

I love how they have evolved since those days, and love Jason White and the other guys that play live with them, but there is something nostalgic about the old days of just Billie, Mike & Tre on stage and I think it would be a good time for it, especially considering Jason White may be out indefinitely. And while I am an older fan, I am sure there are many younger fans that never got to experience their live shows in the 90s.
