Rosie May Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Relating gun deaths to alcohol deaths is false equivalence, as many people have pointed out. The only thing that is comparable is the death rate, nothing else is. Guns are created for the sole purpose of killing, destroying, therefore they are always dangerous. Alcohol is created for drinking. When used in moderation and not in combination with driving or anything else, alcohol is completely harmless. The same cannot be said for guns. When a gun is harmless it is useless because the whole intent of of a gun is to harm. There, clear and obvious difference. Comparing the two is a pointless argument. By that logic you could compare anything with a high death rate to guns and argue that it should be banned. (Again, like loads of others have already said.)
