Libertine Angel Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Prohibition doesn't make it not work now as we are in different times... Why would it be any different now? Heh, sounds a bit like home sweet home. Tony Blair brought it in, Bush probably gave him the idea.
WhiteTim Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Why would it be any different now? Cause environment of the country are different has evolved
Anaïs. Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Cause environment of the country are different has evolved You're just restating what you said in your last post. What actual evidence do you have that attitudes toward Prohibition would be any more positive in today's America?

We know more about alcohol then they did Mafia and organized crime ain't as heavy as it was back then (not saying they're gone now)
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Tim, do you honestly realize how foolishly irrational your posts are making your arguments appear? I can't even bother to rebuke them anymore. ... and to think, I only clicked on this thread because I thought Billie looked incredibly attractive in that photo.
Anaïs. Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 We know more about alcohol then they did Mafia and organized crime ain't as heavy as it was back then (not saying they're gone now) So organized crime is as much a threat as ever when this is about guns, but as soon as it suits you to argue about alcohol all of a sudden it's on the decline? And we've known about the damage alcohol does for a long time. Doesn't stop people from drinking at all. In fact, it's growing—the alcoholic beverages industry is expected to hit $1 trillion by the end of this year.

Guest Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Give me a sack of potatoes, a hot press, and a month, and I could get an alcoholic drunk for a fortnight. Not quite so easy to build your own gun.

I question if you've been reading anything we've been saying. Of course alcohol is responsible for the deaths resulting from drunk driving. Absolutely no one is questioning that. But again, neither alcohol nor cars are designed solely for the purpose of killing things, whereas guns and bullets are; and drinking and driving is already illegal and punishable in numerous different ways. And if you look at the ratio of those who drink alcohol and subsequently kill versus those who own guns and subsequently kill, the latter is much more dangerous than the former.

Anaïs. Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Everyone in here have been saying "alcohol doesn't kill it's more cars it's more this and that alcohol wasn't made to kill" Could you please give me a quote of someone saying "It's the car's fault, not the alcohol's!" And alcoholic drinks weren't manufactured with the intent of killing someone. They just weren't. That does not equate to our saying that drunk driving doesn't kill people. You are just willfully misreading our posts at this point and letting your stubbornness distort what we're actually saying.

Fine, alcohol does have negative effects. But when it's properly regulated those negative effects are very much limited. You know how many people were killed in alcohol related car incidents in Ireland last year? 30. 30. In the entire year. Since 1990 the number of fatalities in car incidents in Ireland has dropped by over 80%, due to higher restrictions on blood/alcohol levels, increased safety awareness, and increased police presence on the roads. It's projected that they'll fall by another 40% this year. Ireland has a cultural drinking problem. But we've pretty much solved our drink driving problem. Actually very easy to make a gun But it's a hundred times easier to make alcohol.

Guest Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 I kept thinking people were making the same typo over and over again but then it dawned on me that you Europeans actually spell "drunk driving" as "drink driving." I can't live in this world anymore. Jesus fucking Christ.
Clean Cut Asshole Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Wow calm down I'm not judging anyone here xD I was just saying there are better options... you do not need to kill animals to survive. It's also rude to use and abuse animals like people do so... You stand for what you believe right? There's nothing wrong with sharing and informing people about these things. Oh sorry, I thought you were telling him to go all vegan and stuff and getting after him, my bad. Fucking terrible comparison Fucking terrible comparison for what? I wasn't comparing anything, I was just throwing my opinion out there.
