Gwen Stacy Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Who would you guys want to see actually induct them in? I'd really want someone who was pretty heavily influenced by Green Day but nobody's jumping to mind as an obvious candidate.
desertrose Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 The Millennials Are Coming for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Green Day's nomination means that the eligibility period has reached a new era, and it's another generation's turn to feel old. http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2014/10/the-millennials-are-coming-for-the-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame/381289/
DookieLukie Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Who would you guys want to see actually induct them in? I'd really want someone who was pretty heavily influenced by Green Day but nobody's jumping to mind as an obvious candidate. Johnny Rotten
The Grohl Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I'm so fucking psyched man! Congrats to Green day! I think they have a good chance of making it in. Also, I hope NIN gets in too.
Anaïs. Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Johnny Rotten He was trending on Twitter for like a split second and I was shocked it wasn't because he decided to rant about the nomination (spoiler: it was about his new memoir; so very "punk" of him).
Hermione Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Yay! I demand that Green Day and NWA are inducted the same year
DookieLukie Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 He was trending on Twitter for like a split second and I was shocked it wasn't because he decided to rant about the nomination (spoiler: it was about his new memoir; so very "punk" of him). He's such a crabby jealous man
moonflower93 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 He's such a crabby jealous man that's why itll be funny for him to induct them in
WhiteTim Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I was thinking that if they get in, what a great opportunity to announce the future of the band. I see two options: A. They started workng on the American Idiot movie again and/or they are going back to the studio. B. They started working on the American Idiot movie again and/or they have accomplished all they can and the induction ceremony will be their last performance together. If I was a betting woman, I would go for B. Green Day has nothing to do with the AI movie Well as in they don't have a say when it starts or if it ever gets made as Warner Bros owns the movie rights to it
Chin for a Day Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Green Day has nothing to do with the AI movie Well as in they don't have a say when it starts or if it ever gets made as Warner Bros owns the movie rights to it Actuallly, the do have a say in it. They are listed as some of the executive producers which means they would have script approval. Also, the rights are optioned to Universal Pictures, not Warner Brothers. Specifically the Playtone Division, which is owned by Tom Hanks. But, as of right now, the film is listed as Development Unknown, which means the script is in Tom Hanks filing cabinet.
OhTheGuilt. Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 That's awesome! Really hoping they'll get in.

Script approval yes But not when it gets made that is up to the studio Green Day doesn't have the power to say "ok we starting filming tomorrow" Also "executive producer" titles are the most useless titles in Hollywood did you know that Johb Landis dog has executive producer credits on 6 of his movies Paddy Chayefsky gave his mistress the title too just for having sex with him on some of his movies as well I guess Warner passed up the movie sorry Warner did option it a few years ago sorry dobt really keep up with the movie version

If you look at the milestones of the film, the slow down coincides with Billie's meltdown. If they get elected (which preliminary reports looks like they will), it will be a great time to start production again, from the studios' standpoint. I think it will have a huge budget and the studio needs good press. What better press than one of the few bands that gets elected in their first year of eligibility. I thought it was always optioned by Universal because I thought it was Tom Hanks that optioned it in the first place, but I'm not sure on that.

Well Playtone is a production company they don't make movies for just one studio
Chin for a Day Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I would love to see the following get in: Green Day (duh), Bill Withers (I can't believe he is not in, Use Me is one of my all time favorite songs), Stevie Ray Vaughn, and the rest I could care less. As long as these 3 get in and Sting doesn't (I know he is in for the Police, I can't change that) I'm happy. Having Johnny Rotten would be the coolest thing ever (Who's selling out now!!) But that isn't going to happen. I would love to see someone with alot of cred induct them. Wasn't there a scene in Cuatro where they said Keith Richards stopped by to say hello? Let's have the Stones do it or Elvis Costello. But more modern choices could be someone like Alanis Morrissette or even Lady Gaga, but that is kind of a stretch not sure if the Rock Hall of fame is ready to embrace her. Personally, I think she is brilliant.
WhiteTim Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Bill Withers (I can't believe he is not in, Use Me is one of my all time favorite songs) !!! I would rep this post 500x if I could
Chin for a Day Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Well Playtone is a production company they don't make movies for just one studio OK, but in this case, it is Universal.
DookieLukie Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 No matter what the circumstances surrounding the movie or the band's future are, the Rock Hall induction shouldn't be used an an advertising slot. It's their time to be honored and enjoy themselves, not promote their career.

moonflower93 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 The most punkest punk band should induct them... 5 Seconds To Summer omg.
