desertrose Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 The story centers on Armstrong’s Perry, who now works in his family’s hardware store. When his hotshot attorney wife (Blair) and daughter forget his 40th birthday, his brother (Messina) takes pity and gives him the money to throw a huge rockstar blowout in a fancy New York hotel. At the party, Perry’s punk past clashes hilariously with his middle-aged reality as he encounters crazy former bandmates and an old-flame-turned-manager (Greer) who offers him a chance to revive his stalled http://deadline.com/2015/05/billie-joe-armstrong-geezer-movie-cannes-sales-1201426785/
Chin for a Day Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 I want to know when the footage they are showing at Cannes gets leaked. I want to see it now.
Hermione Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Oh my god . I can already see he's a natural at playing an embarrassing dad.
Chin for a Day Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Oh my god . I can already see he's a natural at playing an embarrassing dad. He's been doing it for 20 years. One of the highlights of being a parent is embarrassing your children.
Hermione Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 He's been doing it for 20 years. One of the highlights of being a parent is embarrassing your children. He's a seasoned expert at it
unextraordinarygirl Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 When is this movie coming out? I can't wait to see it.
Chin for a Day Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 When is this movie coming out? I can't wait to see it. There isn't a release date yet, but they are showing a preview at Cannes this weekend.
Haushinka! Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 oh my god, this is the most excited I've been to watch a movie in...forever!

desertrose Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Green Day Frontman to Play Future Self in ‘Geezer’ http://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/green-day-frontman-to-play-future-self-in-geezer.html/
Libertine Angel Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Green Day Frontman to Play Future Self in ‘Geezer’ Nah, that would imply Green Day are ever breaking up. They'll be going for as long as they're physically capable of playing, and probably a bit longer.

But it made me excited to see it. *crosses fingers* and hopes his acting is better.
ZSebs Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 So when it said the movie was sold at Cannes, does that mean that we are a step closer to seeing this thing in theaters?
Chin for a Day Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 So when it said the movie was sold at Cannes, does that mean that we are a step closer to seeing this thing in theaters? Was it sold at cannes? I know they were previewing it but I did not read that it was sold. If it was sold it means it was purchased by a distributer so yes, closer to being in theaters
Hermione Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Green Day Frontman to Play Future Self in ‘Geezer’ http://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/green-day-frontman-to-play-future-self-in-geezer.html/ Bahaha, brutal.
Mykee Mexx Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Green Day Frontman to Play Future Self in ‘Geezer’ http://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/green-day-frontman-to-play-future-self-in-geezer.html/ The last sentence seems the most important to me: timing and charisma to play a funny role. These are the keys to success in a comedy imho.
Chin for a Day Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I don't think there is any doubt that he has the charisma, but we will see about the comedic timing. As is often said, dying is easy, comedy is hard. It seemed to be sold pretty quickly at Cannes, so I'm taking that as a good sign. I vote for he nails it.
Mykee Mexx Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 As is often said, dying is easy, comedy is hard. Yes. This.

Chin for a Day Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I just want the songs - that's all. I want both. I guess I'm just a better fangirl than you.
Overjoyyed Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 I'm hoping it comes to the Toronto Film Festival in September!! It would make my life lol <3 http://deadline.com/2015/05/billie-joe-armstrong-geezer-movie-cannes-sales-1201426785/
treday Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I have a feeling all my anticipation that's building up for this movie is gonna be ruined by Billie's dreadful acting. ??
ZSebs Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I have a feeling all my anticipation that's building up for this movie is gonna be ruined by Billie's dreadful acting. I am hoping that the director for this one was a bit tougher on Billie to be a better actor. Like making him redo scenes multiple times to give the best performance. This seemed like a bit of a higher budget movie than Like Sunday Like Rain so they may have been able to afford doing that.
Hermione Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 > Implying Billie's acting being bad makes it any less entertaining to watch
treday Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 It's entertaining for a little while but I wouldn't be able to stomach two or so hours of it.
