IcyMoffatt Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I felt so sad when I heard the news last weekend. I wish Britt the best. She can beat cancer. I had two coworkers who had breast cancer (one of them had it twice) and they both succeeded to survive the illness. If my coworkers can do it, Brittney can do it too.
UNICORN VOMIT Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 What's inappropriate? To tick the like button - on such a sad story.
WhiteTim Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 To tick the like button - on such a sad story. Ahh well you liked it for the fuck cancer parts so there for not bad
Todd Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 I've lost two grandparents to cancer. Best of luck to Britt and her kids and family. I hope we continue to get some updates from them so we'll know if she's getting better. I know it's a long battle, but hopefully they found it soon enough that it won't take years to fix

Like, if the docs told her "we caught it so early, you're going to be just fine, just have to go through this shit first..." then of COURSE they are optimistic. We just have no idea the degree of the situation or how long it's been going on, my guess is they can't have known for more than a few months..
InsideBilliesAsshole Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer and I know how hard it can be for the person and persons involved and it's really sad to hear about Britt I wish her the best of recovery!

Yes, I think it's pretty recent because I've read some hints in Britt's hashtags only recently... And I guess they have more chance to heal it better, this way... But I was really surprised to read this news on GD.com because, she's really young ! I thought breast cancer was diagnosed at about 50-60 or something... Anway, I really hope she'll get better very soon !

My uncle has a very rare cancer..in his tongue... he cannot have surgeon or his whole tongue will be cut and this means he won't speak and eat anymore. So he did only treatments, chemo and radio...and he was soooo pessimistic.. last week he did a NMR and it seems the cancer is gone.. but you know,if only one cell is still there,it grows again and so you are never safe.I hate cancer.

Your story is really terrible, I'm so sorry for you and your uncle... I often thought it was more safe with a lumpectomy than chemo, but I really don't know a thing about cancer and how to cure it. For now, I realize I'm lucky to be healthy, I guess it's something we have to be aware everytime...
November's Storms Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 When a friend of mine had cancer a few years ago I started to look into all sorts of stuff about it. There are some big campaigns about it, saying the disease industry will never truly fund the search for a cure because they make so much money off the treatment. It's all pretty pessimistic stuff but it makes sense. Personally I've known 3 people affected by cancer, all under 40, relatively healthy and not one of them deserved the ordeal they went through.

Yeah I heard about that too and read a lot about it..there are a lot of theories and stuff... now there is this thing that being vegan or at least eating less meat can prevent and even *cure* some cancers...idk there is a lot of confusion..

I am veggie and it's always tempting to get on my soapbox about this sort of stuff. Only thing I'll say is that there have been very credible studies done connecting eating too much red meat to cancer and heart disease. Anyway, this is probably not the place to discuss such things.
ScatteredPictures Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 How come I didn't see this on his insta although I'm followng? anyway, horrible message. I get the feeling he's so happy with her in every of his posts and I hope they make it. I'm not very informed about the severity of breast cancer though :/

Mykee Mexx Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Yeah, pretty woman! And she even used my favourite english word "appreciate".

Jaded in Chicago Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 A young healthy woman, with a lot to live for (her children), and no doubt the best medical treatment available. I'm very positive that she will recover.
Heather. Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Yup, I feared and had a feeling that they would post pictures of her in treatment and I still feel really against that, thinking it should stay private, but to each their own.

Maybe she feels better equipped to deal with it and fight it by doing it openly instead of hiding it away. Like you say to each their own, the only reason it should stay private is if that's what the person going through it feels would be best for themselves.
JOE THE X-KID Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Yup, I feared and had a feeling that they would post pictures of her in treatment and I still feel really against that, thinking it should stay private, but to each their own. It's like when I have problems I like to talk to loads of people about then, because it makes me feel more at ease, Britt probably has the same sort of thing with letting everyone inside the process.

With something as personal as this it should stay relatively private.
spark in the night Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Someone I'm friends with on Facebook has cancer and he takes selfies at chemo sessions and is always posting status updates about how he feels, what he's doing, his doc appts, his scars from tumor-removal surgeries, etc. Some people may want to be more open about their experience. Britt and Mike obviously have a large audience and their photo journey can reach a lot of people. Breast cancer can be caught early and I think by Britt exposing her daily experience to instagram, it can spread awareness to so many people. Just yesterday I found out one of my clients has breast cancer and is starting treatment. I would estimate she is around the same age as Britt and she just had a baby. This is frightening, and is even a wake up call for me.
