I wonder on what's the meaning to this song since the first time I hear it.

anyone has any idea?

for me it's a combination of Lazy Bones and Angel Blue but I could be wrong

Didn't have high expectations for this one, so I'm pleasantly surprised. Should have made the trilogy easily if you ask me, as it beats the shit out of troublemaker.

i like this sound and this song! it seems like old green day's songs :-)

It's not terrible and it's not great either. I like the lyrics but the music is a bit "meh".

I didn't have high expectations considering I never really fell in love with the trilogy... but it's always nice to hear new a song. Looking forward to hear the others, acoustic version of stay the night? Sounds wonderful.

If anything, this song may, in fact, be the strongest evidence yet that Green Day really did pick the 37 best songs for the trilogy. If that is the case, then good freaking God, these guys have lost it.

Somebody said it and I'll repeat it: "how much did you expect from a song that wasn't good enough to make the TRILOGY?"

OK song...and that's all!!!

It's another Billie Joe song about the sociopolitical state of the world and his displeasure with it

Reminder: The song is a DEMO and it didn't make the cut for the trilogy. Why have high hopes and/or criticize the heck out of it?

To be fair, and this might not be the case, but bands sometimes cut songs for many other reasons. Good Riddance wasn't put on Dookie, and that is an amazing song.

It's a bit meh. I didn't listen to the shitty bootlegs of it so I wasn't sure what to expect, but yeah. Nothing special. Can see why it didn't make the Trilogy.

The verses I'd agree on but I think the chorus melody is something they could have used in the trilogy for sure, perhaps not with these lyrics.

I really like it :wub::happy:

I like it, I love how it has little similarities with so many other songs, it's almost like a mash-up.

Isn´t this a tendency with GD songs...? Sounding often alike? Like others here, I like this song, too. Not that bad, not that good, no masterpiece, nothing new. GD tradition it is. Not a song that takes me away like songs from Stop Drop and Roll would do, or even Foreverly. Acceptable quality.

It's been in my head all day, so I can't deny it isn't catchy.

I like it but the repetition of the "should I be concerned?" line and the overuse of cymbals detracts from it a little :u

I'm not implying at all that the song is bad and that's why it was cut.

I'm not sure what people were expecting this to be. I haven't listened to it and I won't until I have the vinyl because that's just how I am. But there's obviously a reason the song wasn't on the trilogy. I'm going in with low expectations. I do like the lyrics about dying, though. Seems like another personal song along with Lazy Bones and A Little Boy Named Train.

It's a good song, better than some Trilogy fillers. I'd like to listen to a final version.

It's super fun and catchy, but I can totally see why it was left off the trilogy.

It's no Dreamcatcher tho.. :ermm:

If only Dreamcatcher were on Demolicious.....bonus track? Probably not.

exactly, in that case Good Riddance does fit in that album and I completely agree with the band

I was expecting this to be really generic having read the comments about it but I don't think it is! It's got such a great melody and I feel like it hints at a retro/60's thing that maybe would've been more evident in a finalized version. "We want to go to heaven but no one wants to die" strikes me as slightly unusual lyrics for the band as well, a cool metaphor for wanting reward without sacrifice . I dunno, there's something intriguing about this song and I like it.

I haven't listened to the song yet, but every time I see the title it makes me think of the Michael Jackson/Mick Jagger song "State of Shock."
