TEENAGE harpist Anna McLuckie has spoken of her joy at edging through to the knockout round of BBC1 talent show The Voice following a rendition of Green Day’s Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).

The Broughton High pupil, who lives in Stockbridge, maintained her run in the competition by securing victory over rival Jessica Steele.

Anna, 17, said: “It went great. Obviously it’s really hard to take it all in at the moment but I’m so pleased to have gotten through to the next round.

“I’m a bit of a Green Day fan so I liked the choice of song and we’re going into the knockout round next.

“Before going on in front of the audience I was absolutely terrified, but once you get on stage and perform you calm down.”

While it's not my cup of tea, I can still respect the talent that went into it. Though the the redhead seemed a little too overdramatic at parts (though that harp was pretty awesome).

It's such an ironic twist of fate that "Good Riddance" has become one of Green Day's most enduring songs. Though at its core, it is just a well-composed and personal arrangement. Though if it were up to me, "Macy's Day Parade" would get more love.
