Guest FlirtyDutherMucker Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 I hope the masters for 1039 and Kerplunk come out fine - theres a few off those albums I really want
Hermione Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 ^Ahh me too. I wanna play those guitar solos! Lol, So today I was thinking: Every time the guys get new tattoos, they should have downloadable content to update them on RockBand. Just to be as authentic as possible Yes! And there should be interchangeable black and blond hair for Billie, so every time he switches his hair colour we can switch his Rockband hair colour too.
Snickerz Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 yeah, i really cannot wait for that crap....its got all of the eras, like the dookie era, the american idiot era, 21st C B era, i even think it has some "mixed" eras in it

Yess And you cant forget the in-between orangey mess he has sometimes
Sanity Loan Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 What I don't get it how the remasters were done without converting the old tapes to digital. I don't know a whole lot about audio production (I know some) so that may be why it doesn't make sense to me. Anyone know about remastering?
Young_Nastyman Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 What I don't get it how the remasters were done without converting the old tapes to digital. I don't know a whole lot about audio production (I know some) so that may be why it doesn't make sense to me. Anyone know about remastering? Kerplunk and 39/Smooth were never remastered, they were reissued by Lookout! before the lawsuit and again by Reprise after the suit. What they have to do in this particular case to remaster them is called Tape Baking Basically those multi-tracks Green Day recorded each instrument on back in the day were combined to make the master tape, now need to be separated so they can isolate each instrument again like it was before the mastering process, then each track is recorded and saved as an individual session file for each track on a computer so they can be digitally mixed to sound better and have more depth in stereo or surround sound or whatever else they feel like doing with them without the original recordings being compromised. It's just very risky to do because if you mess up the process, those tapes are gone for good, there are no second chances.
mankat13 Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 1min and 18secs of when i come around http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIW9HRXmgDk

They seem to be releasing them in the order Green Day released their music videos. If this continues Geek Stink Breath is next, and it will be at Milton Keynes

DecanoLP Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Green Day Rock Band "Exclusive" - When I Come Around http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIW9HRXmgDk This looks so amazing. Unfortunately I won't be ever able to play this game but all the videos are great so far. So many details
JonnieSniper Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 what I dont understand is, I know its obviously difficult to sort the master tapes for 1039 smoothed out slappy hours and kerplunk so why dont they just re-record them? yeah I understand that Green Day are too busy to re-record old songs, but really it shouldn't take that long should it? They'd only have to re-do a few songs from each of their 2 early albums Just an idea

Rent RB, or RB2 2. Download the tracks to an SD card or whatever 3. Return the game 4. Buy GD: RB, and the tracks will show up on the song list

You can get them from the marketplace, I recommend downloading the Rock Band storefront from the marketplace, that way you can sort the 1000+ DLC by band and just go to G 1. Rent RB, or RB2 2. Download the tracks to an SD card or whatever 3. Return the game 4. Buy GD: RB, and the tracks will show up on the song list That's for the Wii players, Xbox360 doesn't use SD cards and has a dedicated marketplace
Laura! Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 The When I Come Around clip makes me even more excited for this game to be released! Though, I still have one problem, I can't find instruments anywhere for the Wii.
petros Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 I just hope there's gonna be a mobile game or something cause that's the only way of playing it for me :(

They'd only have to re-do a few songs from each of their 2 early albums Just an idea I asked this question earlier too, but nobody gave an answer after another user said copyright isnt the reason for not being allowed to re-record them. Maybe it'd sound really awkward if they re-recorded them18 years later. It reminds me if they would use any live versions of songs as DLC. Any thoughts?
Jacob. Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 This Friday, Green Day reveal the opening to Green Day: Rock Band. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/episode-312-gametrailers-tv/100110

I would hate this tbh. Through the albums you can hear Billie's voice change from boy to man, to have his man voice at the beginning again would be gross.

I'd rather wait until I get the game, to make it more epic and jizztastic.

Kind of like how they streamed 21st CB a week or so before release of the album...That's something I will never do again.
