Depends on the console

The Game alone will be $50 for the Wii, and $60 for the PS3 and Xbox 360

Be careful, you may be tempted to buy some of the stuff cheaper used. Some places are not selling used guitars since most of the times the buttons stick or are broken. If one thing you get new, I strongly recomend the guitar. The mic can cost around $50, yes $50. I found a used Mic at Gamestop for $10. It wasn't rockband, or GH, it was Disney. It works great though.

The Xbox 360 DO NOT BUY USED!!!!!!!!!!

1. It could have the Red Ring of Death, aka it's just an over sized paper weight, and someone did the towel trick to just show the game store it worked. AKA People are assholes

2. The console could be banned and you will not be able to get on Xbox Live

If you are strapped for cash and need to buy used and you want a 360, go somewhere like Gamestop where you have 30-90 days waranty so you get a full refund or exchange.

Don't let the RRoD scare you from buying a new 360, the newer systems have a new chip set and they are less likly for the hardware problem. And if by chance it does get RRoD, Microsoft give you a 3 year warenty for that and E74 error,

Anyone buying a 360 with as much as a dented box is asking for trouble ... I always tell people that it's the most Death-Prone system of all time and then remind them hw frequently N64's died and claim the 360 is worse

likewise, if youre looking to buy a system on the cheap, TRUST ME - EVERYTHING on the Wii is sufficently cheaper than the other two systems

games are almost always $10.oo less, the system itself is only $200.oo, peripherals are traditionally slightly cheaper, as are additional controllers.

If you're not a gamer and will really only be buying a system for the game the Wii is far-and-aways your best choice.

I love reading on all the sites that have the news about this (especially ultimate-guitar) the people bashing Green Day and how "they are sellouts" and "aren't punk anymore" and how "they don't deserve their own game.... bring on Slayer! Megadeath! Led Zeppelin!" It is HILARIOUS reading the "flame wars"

somebody should really post up on the main page or something that you do indeed REQUIRE a Video Game Console to play this title.

Unless I am wrong and it has actually been confirmed to be true

but common knowledge suggests that the game will be released for PS3, XBOX 360, and Nintendo Wii, with a fair chance there'll be a PS2 version as well.

Likewise, someone should inform the general community that you need at least ONE (but not more) of the proper Plastic Instruments to play the game.

A lone Guitar will suffice...

that's what I started off with. A lone "Guitar Hero III" Wii replica Guitar controller

then the following Christmas I got the whole damn "Guitar Hero: World Tour" Wii Bundle with a second replica Guitar controller, a Mic, and a Drum Kit.

- their Backing/Tour artists see inclusion

- a Saxaphone accompanyment to the "The Static Age" Solo like when they do it live!!

- slower tracks like 'Novacaine'

- trippy "God told me to Skin you alive" inspired visuals in a stage (seriously, check out the backrounds for "Rock Band: The Beatles" ... some of them are terrifingly trippy and fantastic)

- non-singles like "Blood, Sex, & Booze" or "Homecoming"

- CASTAWAY

also, to put my two cents in about the 'aging' debate.

it is likely in MY OPINION that we will see two different Avatars for each character:

a "Dookie"-Era Character Generation (representing "1,039" thru "Nimrod"/"Warning")

and an "American Idiot" - Era Character Generation (representing post-"Warning" years to present)

each with a few alternative costumes but simmilar faces. I wouldn't doubt that we'll see hairstyles/colors change but not *that* much more

however, I think we'll all be very surprised when The Foxboro Hot Tubs take the stage (which - trust me - they will)

... if The Network makes an appearance wouldn't it be funny if their faces were pixel-blur'd out?

Likewise, then Billie should say a swear, a yellow "nimrod" sticker should cover his mouth rather than just having him stop singing

But yeah Green Day should not have their own game... they SUCK... they are not punk... they are sell outs.... the game will be boring because each song will be the same three chords over and over again with a boring solo.... I wish they would release a Slayer RB!
