Xbox 360 Arcade Unit-$199 without a hard drive, not much memory at all

Xbox 360 Pro(if they still sell them since they are being discontinued) $250 with a 60 gig hard drive

Xbox 360 Elite $299 with a 120 gig Hard drive

Online Play is $50 bucks a year, $19.99 for 3 months, $7.99 for 1 month. It is as of now the only system to charge for online but it is by far the best one. The Xbox Live Silver is free, you can download demos and such but you can't game with friends unless they are on the same console or LAN.

PS3 Slim $299 with 120 gig Hard drive

If you go the way of the Wii, the graphics will not be nearly as good but the game play for a rockband game should be about the same, which is opinion since I never played Guitar Hero or RB on the Wii, just the 360.

On the 360, best bet is to get the Arcade for $199. You can get a 20 gig HDD for as little as $20 bucks on Craigs List or Ebay or maybe other sites. You get alot for memory for the 50-100 bucks for the Pro or Elite but if it's your first console of the new gen for you, no need to go too over board at first.

PS3 Slim, I bought one the first I heard the price drop, alot of other good games for it, plus it's a Blu-Ray player. There's other versions but they are all going towards the Slim.

Another thing to think about is your TV. If it's not a high-def you won't get the full experiance of the 360 or PS3, they still look nice but not their best. And the Blu-Ray is worthless without one.

The Game

There may be a bundle, but we will get that information soon I think

The Game alone will be $50 for the Wii, and $60 for the PS3 and Xbox 360

If you don't want the Drums or Mic it may come as just a Guitar, game duo maybe at $99

A new guitar can for for as little as $30-50. Best bet is to get a 1st party controller, it's more expensive but more responsive.

On Amazon, the drums are about $50, $30 for regular RockBand1, not sure how good those will be.

Be careful, you may be tempted to buy some of the stuff cheaper used. Some places are not selling used guitars since most of the times the buttons stick or are broken. If one thing you get new, I strongly recomend the guitar. The mic can cost around $50, yes $50. I found a used Mic at Gamestop for $10. It wasn't rockband, or GH, it was Disney. It works great though.

The Wii used is not bad, I know 5 people who bought their Wii used and so far I heard no problems, they are still gaming on them. You can get it anywhere for $150-$175

The Xbox 360 DO NOT BUY USED!!!!!!!!!!

1. It could have the Red Ring of Death, aka it's just an over sized paper weight, and someone did the towel trick to just show the game store it worked. AKA People are assholes

2. The console could be banned and you will not be able to get on Xbox Live

If you are strapped for cash and need to buy used and you want a 360, go somewhere like Gamestop where you have 30-90 days waranty so you get a full refund or exchange.

Don't let the RRoD scare you from buying a new 360, the newer systems have a new chip set and they are less likly for the hardware problem. And if by chance it does get RRoD, Microsoft give you a 3 year warenty for that and E74 error,

The PS3, I can't help you with, I bought mine new and know of no one who bought used.

But you can get it as little as $250(Used Wii, Game, Guitar and or drums)

Or as much as $500-$550 depending on what comes in the box(New PS3 or 360, and Bundle pack)

gaming talking, the beatles rock band will be hard to top BUT these games are about the music so since the bands are not really related I wouldn't worry.

As stated above, the full set up, Game, Drums, Mic, Guitar, Bass sold $250 for The Beatles. Will it be that high for Green Day? I'm not so sure, I don't know if they wiill include a signature bass. Maybe just Guitar, Mic, Drums, and Game for maybe $199.

no, the limited, full edition only included game, mic, drums and BASS-LOOKING guitar.

guitars and basses are the same in these games.

the GUITAR-looking guitars (2 models) were sold separately at 99.99 each, .

they did this because the hofner bass is more of a Beatles instrument than any others.

I would guess that the "limited" full edition for Green Day would include game, drums, mic, and a plastic guitar that looks like Blue.

In the Beatles one, do the band look different in the different eras? I think in GH:metallica the band look the same all the way through (though I'm usually concentrating on the notes flying past...)
