^ I have no idea why you would need something like that xD What do you have already? The wii, and a couple controllers, right? Just buy a Wii microphone or something. You need a controller and a microphone to play vocals. That's all I know

I just got it today and its amazing, I stoped playing for about an hour cause i got paranoid my xbox was gonna over heat and shut down and mess up, so i got some will power and got away from the game. its been 30 mintis away from it and i feel like im losing my mind, i love that game soooo much...maybe a little too much :runaround:

im itching to go buy a mic and drums now :)

well i bought rock band instruments cause all i had was guitar hero but then they wouldnt work so out of desperation i tried my guitar hero drums guitar and mic...they all worked fine w/ the GD RB so i didnt neem to buy new ones.

Got it yesterday, completed it today :D I dont have the DLC from rockband 2, and I've only done 3 challenges. But i loved the end video, my favourite song too :P

I feel like nobody plays this for Xbox. I mean c'mon people, lets start an online band, I'm strictly an expert drums or guitar player. If anyone wants to join in it'd be greatly appreciated.

Just a side note. Remember that lawsuit a few months back cuz of the backdrop for East Jesus Nowhere? I think it was legit. In the EJN stage in-game, the face is nowhere to be found, and in the unlockable EJN live video, it's been blurred out. Kinda distracting in the unlockable if you ask me.

Are Harmonix/ Warner even promoting this game at all? I just saw an ad for The Beatles: Rock Band on TV, but where are the Green Day: Rock Band commercials?

It doesn't seem like they are. I haven't seen commercials since the special was on a few weeks ago. And when I went into Game Stop to pick up the game a few days after it was out I saw no posters or anything to show that it was released.

Promotion fail.

Its no suprise that Warner aren't promoting it, when have they ever been promoting 21st Century Breakdown or anything after that? It's not like the album is on their record label or anything. But I'm wondering how that'll affect the game saleswise...

Ah no sorry, I have a Wii. I want to find a couple of people (singers) too to play the game with online.. But right now I'm off to try to get higher scores :)

Yeah, I laughed so much when I finished the game and that video started playing! Hilarious indeed

And I loved it when Billie just said 'Bye' and went off at the end of the song xD

You know, the thing about the high scores is like there's always someone who just masters more songs than you, it's really not fair. I was all the way to number 8 on the career leaderboards overall as a single vocalist within the first week, but soon after people just kept beating my scores. And the whole thing where you have to know when to trigger the overdrive or else you won't get as many points...the whole thing kinda frustrates me all to hell.

There's alot more ppl online for Xbox than PS3 tho so be grateful...noone on this board has a fucking PS3!

I have a question for you guys...

So I randomly found RockBand 1 today and was wondering if I use my export for it, do it only apply to rockband 1? or does it let me use it for any other RockBand games after I do the export?

I know its probably stupid, but I don't really understand RockBand as GDRB is the first RockBand game I've ever owned, and now I also have RockBand.

So any help on that would be appreciated, I googled and couldn't find the answer, only walkthroughs on how to export.

Yeah exactly! I've been playing GD Rock band on our Wii for about four or five days, and now I'm #2 as a single vocalist for career. Most of the songs are 100% and then I'm at number 2 or 3 or something for a specific song. There are always people that have like 100 or so more points.. just cause of that overdrive. Gah, the overdrive thing frustrates me a bit xD But I love the game. :)

exporting works for rock band 1,2 and 3 just like the dlc does, its universal for the main series games

The way you have to set off the vocal overdrive is so annoying. I have to shout at the top of my voice to set it off. Is there some specific noise you can make to set it off that doesn't involve shouting?

Posted

^here's what i do: if i see the overdrive coming up right after a phrase, i just hold the last note of that phrase into the overdrive, and it activates. works well when the the overdrive appears in between short gaps. there is no need to shout. and depends on what your voice is like, you wont need to shout at the top of voice to activate overdrive, all i do is give a "wooooo" without any extra strain on my voice.

You know, thanks to the vocals tuturial on GD Rock Band I only found out today that that's the way to set off overdrive  What I'd been doing the last couple of days was tapping (is that the right word?) on the microphone with my hand very fast, which would set off the overdrive. I wish I figured out the way you mentioned before, so much easier

How does the overdrive on guitar work? I only have a GH guitar (which will work on GDRB, but idk how much they differ). Just click the button for what in GH is star power, I guess?

Yeah, that's what I do. And it works :)
